About this listen

The real-life classic story of a dyslexic girl and the teacher who would not let her fail. A perfect gift for teachers and for students of any age.

Patricia Polacco is now one of America's most loved children's book creators, but once upon a time she was a little girl named Trisha starting school. Trisha could paint and draw beautifully, but when she looked at words on a page, all she could see was jumble. It took a very special teacher to recognize little Trisha's dyslexia: Mr. Falker, who encouraged her to overcome her reading disability. Patricia Polacco will never forget him, and neither will we.

Such value for so many

My nephew suffered with dyslexia until he was in 8th grade before much was available for teachers to understand this reading challenge. Even though he did learn to read, his early experience of being the “dumb” kid negatively affected his entire life. Every child should read/hear this book to help them understand others and possibly themselves.
