About this listen
Embark on a roller-coaster ride of humor and wisdom with "The 21 Laws to Keep Your Woman in Check," a book that turns the conventional guide to relationships on its head. Authored by the dynamic duo, Shawn and Stormie Andrews, this gem of a book is an exploratory journey into the nuances of love, partnership, and the inevitable dance between the so-called ‘Alpha’ maneuvers and the genuine connections that bind a couple together.
At the heart of the book is Stormie, a self-styled relationship guru who believes he has cracked the code to a harmonious relationship by establishing 'laws' that range from mastering the art of selective hearing to navigating the treacherous waters of the thermostat wars. His laws are crafted with wit and a confidence that's as dubious as it is amusing, promising to keep the listener chuckling and nodding in recognition.
But the real twist comes from Shawn, his astute wife, who with each counter-chapter, deftly unveils the reality behind Stormie's bravado. Shawn's contributions are not just rebuttals but reflections, seasoned with wisdom and warmth, offering a perspective that celebrates the strength found in true partnership, mutual respect, and, most importantly, laughter.
"The 21 Laws to Keep Your Woman in Check" is as much a satirical take on relationship manuals as it is a heartfelt homage to the complexities of love. It’s a narrative that reassures us that the key to a fulfilling relationship lies not in domination or compliance, but in navigating life’s challenges through shared laughter, understanding, and a healthy dose of patience.
Listeners will find themselves immersed in tales that span the silly to the sublime, from debates over dinner choices to navigating family dynamics. It's a comprehensive look at the day-to-day moments that, while seemingly trivial, are the very essence of what it means to be in a relationship.
Moreover, this book is a call to couples everywhere to look beyond the superficial tactics often touted in relationship guides and embrace the unpredictable, often messy, but always rewarding journey of love and companionship. It encourages listeners to find their unique rhythm, to appreciate the quirks and qualities of their partner, and to build a relationship that is rooted in mutual growth, respect, and unconditional support.
With over twenty chapters of insight, humor, and heartfelt advice, "The 21 Laws to Keep Your Woman in Check" offers something for everyone. Whether you're navigating the early days of your relationship, seeking to deepen your connection, or simply in need of a good laugh, Stormie and Shawn's journey invites you to reconsider what it means to truly feel in tune with your partner.
Join the Andrews in this unmissable exploration of love's delightful complexities, and discover why sometimes, the best way to keep your relationship in check is to throw the rulebook out the window. Embrace the chaos, find joy in the journey, and remember that at the end of the day, love is about finding someone with whom you can share both your deepest fears and your greatest follies.
Enhance your understanding of love, humor, and partnership with 'The 21 Laws to Keep Your Woman in Check.' Ideal for couples at any stage, this book makes a fantastic wedding gift, anniversary present, or a thoughtful addition to couples therapy sessions. Whether you're looking to reignite the spark in your relationship, deepen your connection, or simply enjoy a journey filled with laughter and love insights, Stormie and Shawn Andrews' captivating tales and advice offer a fresh perspective on the art of staying together. Embrace this unique exploration of partnership, making every day with your significant other a delightful adventure.

Story
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Campbell Flynn, art historian, professor, and fêted fixture of the literati, always knew that when his life came crashing down, it would happen in public—yet he never imagined that a single year in London would expose so much. He’s never taken other people half as seriously as they take themselves, which is the first of his mistakes. The second is a new project: opportunistic and precisely calibrated to rake in a fortune.

In Made in America, Bryson de-mythologizes his native land, explaining how a dusty hamlet with neither woods nor holly became Hollywood, how the Wild West wasn't won, why Americans say 'lootenant' and 'Toosday', how Americans were eating junk food long before the word itself was cooked up, as well as exposing the true origins of the G-string, the original $64,000 question, and Dr Kellogg of cornflakes fame.

Don't Let the Title Fool You!
This is a great book that pokes fun at the interactions between men and women. As you listen to Shawn and Stormie narrate the book, you can't help but see your own relationship(s) in the various chapters. You can't help but laugh out loud as they each take their turn either laying down the law or playfully letting us know that what you hear is not always the law of the land. If you want a good laugh, listen to this book. Great fun and very entertaining!

Fun read for couples together
My wife and I listened to the book and it did bring us lots of laughter and made our drive seem to go faster. We definitely identified with most of it.
We did stop the audio a few times and discussed and further laughed about the book and what we were listening to.
Stormie and Shawn do a good job with great sense of humor. At the end you realize that………… it’s worth reading and finding out.

Hilariously enlightening !
Looking at the title, you’re initially not sure if we’re going to punch the author or cut him. But once you get into it you’ll find his humor and his wife’s enlightening insights, make it hard to stop listening.
Coming from a single woman’s perspective it was easy to see why I’m still single, and how to address it in the future. Simple things within a relationship that normally infuriate us as women were turned into humorous events and given actionable steps and ways to handle them. Now, I would probably still have to pray before I got to the wife, Shawn’s level of understanding … But maybe it would be worth it.
“Learning to laugh, and communicate better” is a great idea that few intimate relationships ever exercise.
Single ladies… Looking at the annoying actions of our potential mates might be what gets us down the aisle with the next one. This will certainly be the gift I’ll be giving to couples as wedding and engagement gifts in the future.
It’s certainly worth the listen. I’ve sent it out to all of my girlfriends, and even had my mother who was married 57 years take a listen. They’ve all loved it so far!

Humorous-Unexpectedly Relevant
I could not stop laughing at the “overly confident” character, while thinking “great perspective.” In reality, “The 21 Laws..” are more of a play on the misunderstanding of individual habits. My takeaway was that with a touch of humor, we can simply relax, not make a big deal over small stuff and some of the nuances that tear couples apart.
