About this listen

Familiar faces. Brand-new alliances. An impossible enemy in their midst.

The Chicago survivors stagger into town on fumes. They’re injured, distraught, and suffering from innumerable losses. However, at Rock’s homestead - in the midst of a new threat - Fire and the group reunite with family and take refuge with local survivors.

Here, they come to realize the enemy of humanity has been posing as one of their own: a human. No one really knows what this means. Some realize they've leapt out of the frying pan and into the fire, while others see an opportunity to exact revenge. But for the select few, it means both...

AWESOME SERIES!

I LOVED this series. I got so into the different characters & various stories that I'd be listening to a book & suddenly I'd realize that it was part of "oh yeah, THAT 1st book, THAT series!" The ending was worth the wait! I highly recommend this! I listen to A LOT of these realistic various scenarios end-times types of books so think by now I can tell what's REALLY good, which this one was for certain!

lovely ending

Non stop drama and trauma at the end of the world as we know it...and it felt fine.

awesome series

I absolutely love the series. Now there is something about this a book that was kind of annoying more than once in fact the author always showed his political leanings toward the 'right' and the innuendo that the 'right" is Right and the 'Left"is wrong and how California is somehow weak or weird and that the left is weak and the right is always stoger or just and that their survivors in the 'left'are the dead. I thought was a pretty hellacious. I guess he was pandering to the audience he thinks will gravitate to this genre. if you cam get past this you will enjoy and sometimes sickened by this story.

the ages

Very much enjoyed the story of so many people going through trials, tribulations, love and danger. Surely kept me wanting more.

Series review...Raw and Gritty, Loved It

OMG, Ryan Schow has the ability to create worlds so unimaginably cruel and violent, but at the same time lends hope and humanity to a scenario not may have the will to survive. From the beginning with Boot 1 The Age of Embers the action and rawness grabs you and catapults you along with the characters through Book 5 The Age of Defiance which culminates with a cast of characters who have learned not only to survive against overwhelming odds but to retain there ability to be human. This series is raw, gritty and violent, exactly what I would imagine war would be and never hope to experience. Well done Ryan. Well done.

Best post apolitical (it) ending

this is on the edge of your seat ending. it was the computer's ending of mankind not like the terminator movies. better and more realistic the way a IT would try to be human like. worth the listen or read.

Best apocalypse series I have read

I loved this series. Great character development, survival and runaway AI robot. Not a prepper story but one of survival. I went through the entire series quickly.
