About this listen

Sid

The last thing I want to be is a charity case. It’s part of why I was reluctant to come back home after I got myself blown up overseas with the Navy. But I need a place to heal - away from prying human eyes - and reconnecting with my family seems like the right thing to do.

It’s reconnecting with my best friend that really throws me for a loop, though. I was head over heels with him when I left, but he never seemed to return my feelings. It doesn’t take me too long to figure out that the sparks are still there - and that he feels them, too. The only question is: what do we do about it?

Alan

Having Sid back is the best news I’ve had in a long time. I’ve loved him for as long as I can remember - even asked for permission to court him when we were just teenagers. Discovering that we’re fated mates should be happiest moment of my life...but with my brother gunning for my position as pack alpha and a pack war looming on the horizon, I’m afraid that Sid’s moved from one war zone into another.

And when I learn he’s carrying my pup? As much as I want this life with him, that’s the sort of news that takes this situation from bad to worse. The biggest question is: do I have what it takes to protect them?

The Alpha’s Claim is a MPREG shifter audiobook featuring a haunted alpha, a military omega, and one guaranteed happy ending. Each audiobook in the Gypsum series can be listened to in any order.

Wonderful addition to the series

This is a terrific addition to the series. The story captures your attention. It was easy to get lost in the story waiting to see how Sid and Alan we’re going to work everything out, especially with Alan’s brother causing problems. No spoilers here but there is definitely a happy ending.

This is performed by the same narrator as the previous 2 entries in the series but this time the narrator really brings the characters to life. Time flew as I listened to the book. Definitely worth getting.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Romeo & Julien, Shifter Style

The Alpha's Claim continues with the political wrangling of the previous books. Several packs want to build an Alliance to better protect their families and share resources. Other packs are concerned they would be giving up their autonomy and traditions. There are no easy answers.

Our MCs were best friends as children, but are on opposing sides of this debate. It appears that the classic Romeo and Julien scenario is doomed to play out. Our wily author though, has plans for our Wolves of Gypsum.

Narrator Zachary Zaba once again works his magic as he guides us through the world of testosterone laden Alphas and strong willed Omegas. His voice is a pleasure to listen to, completely enjoyable.

Loved the series

Love the series. The editing was terrible from narration. There is way to much repetition.

Friends find their way to love.

Alan and Sid have been friends for ages who secretly had feelings for each other. Sid goes off to college and the military and Alan runs his pack. Ten years later Sid comes back and the story only gets better from there.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Preston Walker writes a great book. My only problem was with the errors in narration. If someone had simply edited the audiobook for repetition it would have easily been 5 stars. This seems to be a recurring issue.

Glad to be back in Gypsum!

Alan and Sid have known each other for a long time. They were best friends and wanted to be more. When Sid comes back home , injured from an incident in the service, they reconnect. As is so often the case, outside influences try to keep them apart. Preston has done a great job of creating a story we can’t get enough of. Come to Gypsum and see how he brings it all together. Thanks Zachary Zaba for great narration. Preston, I really loved this story.

lost in the past

Poor Sid is in the crosshairs of pack wars after returning from war and losing a leg. How much can a guy take??!! Sid's dad was a crabby patty of the highest order and interfered in his son's relationship way too much.Ted was no alpha- he was a bully living in the past. I like the final resolution and the changes some characters made for the better. The narrator did a goid job of bringing it to life.

Errors

The series has spots where it repeats the same words over. Didn’t know how to fix it.
