About this listen
This might look like a self-help audiobook. It might even sound like one. Once you dive into it, however, you will find some differences. Unlike others of its kind, this audiobook does not promise results or give expert opinions. It is neither a miracle cure nor a magic potion. It does not pretend to have all the answers.
Rather, this audiobook is a plea for self-trust and a gentle guide to self-awareness. Instead of helping you become who you think you should be, The Art of Talking to Yourself hopes to introduce you to someone more interesting: who you are.
So this audiobook will not fix you. But if the words herein have their intended effect, you will reach the end realizing you do not need to be fixed. This audiobook, rather than a cure, is an exploration - a curious adventure into your inner mystery. If it inspires you to understand yourself better, it has done its job.

Much of what plagues us—people pleasing, staying in stale relationships, negative habits—all point to what happens when we are out of touch with what truly makes us feel whole.

Most people don't realize how much unresolved emotional pain they carry around. They don't know why they always feel depressed, anxious, victimized, or disappointed. They wonder why they keep making the same self-sabotaging impulsive decisions. These patterns often stem from their lost inner child, which carries a false narrative that has been on repeat since childhood.

A Fascinating Book
This is a captivating book. Guiding me on how much power my thoughts hold. Directing me how to become consciously conscious of them and ways to change them so that my thoughts root for me and make me a better, more present person. The author shares some very personal things! The chapter "Conversations That Heal" will make you cry.

Excellent Resource for a Better Life
The world is full of “experts” who are willing to tell you exactly what to do and how to live your life to find happiness, succeed in business, or almost anything else where you have a desire but don’t know how to go about achieving what you want in life. “Just follow my 5-step process,” “the step-by-step way to get what you want,” “the secret to succeeding at” almost anything is waiting for you at any bookstore, or online where all sorts of “experts” are willing to enroll you in their programs that promise success and fulfillment if you will just adopt their proprietary system.
The Art of Talking to Yourself is NOT a book in this genre of “expert” answers to all your questions. In fact, Viktoria Tugaleva states, right from the beginning, that she is not an expert, but a fellow traveller on the road to seeking wisdom and insight, not one who is there to sell you answers, but one to help you to ask questions. If you want easy answers, this is not your book. But if you want honest counsel, you’ve come to the right place.
There are no easy answers, Tugaleva writes, but there are honest questions. And the answers are not out there, but inside yourself. The key is to ask yourself the questions and listen to your own soul to find the path of self-knowledge and wisdom. This book is refreshing in its honesty and forthrightness. It won’t lead you down a garden path only to leave you disappointed when the “answers” don’t lead to the promised success and happiness, but it will point you to the one place where the meaning you’ve been seeking resides––in yourself.
If you want real meaning in your life, you will need to create it. If you want to really know yourself, you will need to embark on a journey of self-discovery. In The Art of Talking to Yourself, Vironika Tuvaleva stands ready to help you start that journey and walk alongside you as a guide––not an expert, but a fellow seeker––to share with you what she has learned in her years of walking down this path. The journey is well worth taking.

This book was a breath of fresh air. I couldn't explain a lot of what was bothering me about these kinds of books before. I also was surprised by how dense and complex it is, like more philosophy than how to.

Five Stars
This book came to my life at an excellent time - I've come to realize that I need to contain the good and the bad, the extrovert, the introvert, the thoughtful, analytical, sensitive, confused, lost and loving self. I really listen to my thoughts, instead of trying to empty my mind. This book does not provide advice about what to do. It unravels in layers, bringing you closer and closer to knowing the truth about yourself.

Thought provoking read about self-awareness & inner balance
Great read! This book is super thought provoking. Gets your wondering about looking deeper within, and asking who are my inner voices and inner characters? It provides a great narrative about the path of self-awareness, conscious listening, inner talk, and how to strive for inner balance and peace. It’s definitely a book that I will read again and get more out of each time.
The audio voice was a bit monotone and uninteresting.

So True
This book has served to open up my world and will continue to contribute to greatly improving the quality of all of my relations. Highly recommended where ever you are in your personal or professional journey. The balance chapters at the end are challenging to understand, but if you listen closely (and multiple times, if you need to), there is so much truth there!
