Publisher's summary

The battle for Eirenoch continues as the Knights of the Dragon take the battle into the Southern Kingdom. Still seeking his sixth and final knight, Prince Eamon frees the cities of the south one by one, incurring the wrath of The Lifegiver himself. His dark servant, The Prophet, arrives to show her support to Queen Maebh, Siobhan's twin sister, and finds that the estranged Queen has a pleasant surprise in store for her.

Meanwhile the rebel Jindala, Khalid, is greeted at Tel Drakkar by Erenoth, and is taught to follow the Path of the Dragon. His training will test his strength, resolve, and dedication to The Dragon.

Farouk, having been initiated by Jodocus as the Great Druid's apprentice, continues his training in the ways of nature. His innate abilities and gift of understanding attract the attention of the Great Mother, who begins to suspect that his uncanny gifts will be a valuable tool in the battle against evil.

Behind the scenes, Garret embarks on the quest bestowed upon him by his Queen, and discovers the existence of an underground society that could be recruited to aid in the battle.

New characters, exciting battles, and startling revelations await you in this second installment of The Dragon Chronicles.

One of the best I have heard

Really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to hear the rest of them. Keith L O’Brien did a great job with putting a voice to the characters

Excellent sequel to Onyx Dragon

Where does The Ascent rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For quality, this book ranks very high.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters and story line fit together nicely. I liked how the characters are all actually different, having personalities of their own. The story is smooth and flowing with heart wrenching moments even more distressing than in the first book. I found myself almost in tears at the end.

What about Keith L. O'Brien’s performance did you like?

His accent is perfect for narration and I think he did a great job voicing the different characters. Erenoth's accent was a little Romanian sounding, which actually kind of fit him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually did listen to this in one sitting. I wasn't bored once.

Any additional comments?

I will continue to follow this author and see how well his writing becomes. For this being his second book, it was unreal. The style was even better than the first, so I am looking forward to the next books.
