About this listen

Gabe thinks he’ll never have a bond of his own. He’s bond-cut, which means his scent gland is so scarred, he can’t bond to anyone - not even his best friend, Marcus, who he’s been in love with for six years.

Gabe spends every waking moment with Marcus. They co-own a tattoo parlor and share an apartment. It was Gabe who gave Marcus the vibrant bird tattoos all over his body. But Gabe never plans to tell Marcus about his feelings. Marcus deserves a bond.

Marcus may be huge, even for an alpha, but everyone knows he’s a marshmallow at heart. He’s not going to pressure his bond-cut best friend into a romantic relationship he may not want. Until Gabe’s heat starts early, and a series of accidents lead to a dangerous pregnancy that exposes their true feelings for one another and rocks the foundation of their friendship.

In a world where bonds are everything, can love be enough on its own?

The Bond-Cut Omega is a best-friends-to-lovers romance with knotting, MPreg, manties, and hurt/comfort. It’s a companion audiobook for the Nerds Who Knot Series, but it stands alone.

My Favorite of the Series

This 3rd installment of the "Nerds" series was my favorite. I liked all three, but liked each book more than the previous, so my order of favorites would be the 3rd, then the 2nd, then the 1st book in the series. The relationship between Gabe & Marcus moved me to tears. Their desire to see the other happy is almost painfully palpable at times, and I'll definitely be consuming this one again. The whole series is quick and easy. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a romance series that has good chemistry between the main characters, but doesn't seek to over complicate the plot with lots of unnecessary "extras."

The Bond - cut Omega

I enjoyed Marcus and Gabe’s story. Their friendship is strong, and I loved seeing it deepen into something more. The two have been friends for years and neither realizes just how deep their feelings go until one fateful night. Yet even with what happens the society norms get in the way and the two must make some hard choices. Will they fight for what they could have or let it slip through their fingers?

Not only did the main characters endear themselves to me but many of the supporting characters made an impression. The author does a wonderful job of mixing angst and romance together in this story. The characters and plot are well developed giving it substance. I was pleasantly surprised at all the distinct personalities and how they meshed so well together. Lessons were learned the hard way and we are treated to a wonderful story that will not only pull at your heartstrings but make you laugh and believe in the power of love. Narrator Lance West does a good job of bringing these characters and their world to life. I was quickly pulled in and immersed into the story.

oh so good, and an ace side character

this was a well written and voiced book, even the side characters was well written. I cried several times and would warn that if you have adoption trauma that it could be triggering but it was carefully written and had a good solution.

So very Amy Bellows

Not my favorite Amy Bellows book, but it was so very her. We are met with a typical omegaverse world with 2 oblivious idiots so clearly I love with each other it was getting cringy. I perked up upon hearing the term 'pregnancy heat' and remembered why I love Amy Bellows. Very good world building and I did get just a little misty eyed at the warm tender feelings. I love stories like these that do unorthodox pairings. in this case an omega who cut his bonding gland as a teen and thus was unable to offer a traditional bond to the alpha he fell in love with. The whole adoption thing got kind of messy and the in-law drama felt glossed over. I would've preferred a longer story to address those points, but it is what it is. And that's a decent omegaverse romance with plenty of feels and Amy Bellows' kinky @$$ spirit.

I think my biggest qualm was that poetry from book 1 was mentioned but once again no actual prose was written!! Give me @$$ poetry AB, you tease!!!

A Deep-Feeling Omegaverse Hurt/Comfort Love Story

This book may have one of the most attention-grabbing opening lines ever, and I was all ears from there.

Omega Gabe and alpha Marcus have secretly loved each other since becoming best friends as teenagers, but misconceptions and insecurities surrounding Gabe being bond-cut have prevented either from pursuing more. When long-hidden desires are revealed during Gabe's heat, their relationship takes a turn and their already intertwined lives only gets more complicated - and it's an intimate, painful, hopeful, and heartwarming journey worth taking.

I'm such a fan of this author's skillful ability to create interesting and unique worlds regardless of page count, and put their own unique spin on established tropes. Here, it's an omegaverse best friends-to-lovers hurt/comfort love story that's rich in character depth and runs the emotional gamut - longing, loss, heartbreak, hope, love (of course)...and more. And cheers for demisexual and asexual representation in this story as well.

Narrator Lance West delivers a solid performance that I enjoyed, though the different character voices didn't sound all that distinct to me. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Excellent!

This book was exceptional! I can often guess where a story will go but there were beautiful surprises around every turn. This is not the first book in the series but it can be read alone, you would just miss a few references.
The narrator was very good. I could recognize each character by the different voices.

Loved this story

I must admit that, while I liked all the books in the series, this was my favorite by far. I am a sucker for friends to lovers stories, especially ones when there are circumstances that make it seem impossible that the two MCs will ever be able to be together.

Gabe was afraid that he would be holding Marcus back from being to bond with his future mate the way that Gabe wasn't able to bond because of having his scent gland cut when he was a teenager. Marcus felt that he would never be able to be with Gabe because he thought that Gabe wouldn't be interested in anyone sexually or romantically because of his cut scent gland. Luckily, they were both wrong and the journey to having their happy ever after is both hot and sweet with a little bit of angst thrown in.

The narrator had a soothing voice that enhanced my enjoyment of this story, and I would certainly enjoy listening to more books narrated by Lance West in the future.

one of my favorites

I was very excited for this audiobook to come out and it was great to go through the story again after reading it so long ago. It made me realize that this book actually does a good job of establishing the characters, their relationship, their history, and the world building very quickly without seeming forced or too rushed. Actually the entire book is well paced. Everything in this book tugs at your heart and the story just seems to flow seamlessly from 1 scene to the next.

The audio only adds to this experience. I'm still not super familiar with this narrator yet so it took me a moment to get used to the voices, but he did a good job. The character voices stayed consistent, the emotional scenes make you feel it in the chest, and the smexy scenes make you melt.

You just can't help but want these characters to get their happily ever after and you just fall in love with them so quickly.

Actually, thinking about it now, I wonder if writing this was inspiration for the lost red wolves series with the theme of Omegas who can't bond for some reason. Although the perspective of it without magic involved is also very interesting. I feel like this writer is an evil genius and I realize something new everytime I read one of her books. Even little things like the trans or Ace representation or the symbolism behind the tattoos. It fills me with pride and joy.

As always, I recommend this book if you're looking for something truly original, set in the omegaverse. I'm truly glad this book finally got to come to life as an audiobook experience.
