About this listen

How do you start a new chapter when you haven't closed the book on the last one?

Eighteen months ago, Autumn Divac's husband went missing. Her desperate search has yielded no answers—she still has no idea where he went or why. After being happily married for twenty years, she can't imagine moving forward without him, but for the sake of their two teenage children, she has to try.

Autumn takes her kids home for the summer to the charming beachside town where she was raised. She seeks comfort by working alongside her mother and aunt at their quaint bookshop, only to learn that her daughter is facing a life change neither of them saw coming and her mother has been hiding a terrible secret for years. And when she runs into Quinn Vanderbilt—the boy who stole her heart in high school—old feelings start to bubble up again. Is she free to love him, or should she hold out hope for her husband's return? She can only trust her heart…and hope it won't lead her astray.

We need more on these characters PLEASE!

I for one would like to hear the rest of the stories... The mother, the daughter and the lead character. I'd also like to see the father that was missing find some happiness as well.

Odd ending...

I'm torn, certain parts seemed to drag on, or were unnecessarily added, but then the end just felt rushed. I just would've liked a better resolution than "oh, we'll tell everyone." It just felt like an odd way to end it.

Very good read

once again, Brenda Novak hit a home run. She developed interesting characters with their own oarallel stirylines. I think Taylor's storyline and her struggles could have been explored in more depth--- for some reason it just scratched the surface. I strongly recommend this book.

No good

Mediocre at best. Story drug on, the narrator’s voice sounds like a socialite trying to impress the listener with her pedigree. “Would you like to come to dinnerrrr?”👎

The best summer read of 2021

This is by far one of the best summer reads I have read in years. I was captivated right from the start. With Autumn's husband disappearing to finding out about her father. The summer loves that turn into more and the unexpected twists and turns. I didn't want it to end. I felt like I was right there in Sable Beach with Autumn, Mary, Taylor and Caden. I need more…

Perfect Spring Read!!

Once again Brenda Novak has created a world that makes readers want to pack their bags and move to. The sensitive topics brought up in this story were handled with the upmost care. This is a story of life throwing curve balls and dealing with the fallout. A storyteller with less skill would not have been able to write such a beautiful story. Thank you Ms. Novak for sharing your talent with us.
