About this listen

The Cavern of the Fear kicks off the second exciting series in the world of Deltora!

The Shadow Lord and the creatures of his sorcery have been driven back across the mountains. But thousands of Deltorans are still enslaved in the Shadowlands, the Shadow Lord's own terrifying and mysterious domain. To rescue them, Lief, Barda, and Jasmine - heroes of the quest for the Belt of Deltora - must find a weapon powerful enough to combat the Shadow Lord's magic on his own ground.

According to legend, the only thing the Shadow Lord fears is the fabled Pirran Pipe. But does the mysterious Pipe still exist? And if it does, what dangers will the companions have to face to find it?

exceptional execution

I don't know why Ron Haddrick doesn't narrate more books, he's really good. I read these books when I was a kid and listening to them as an adult is a great trip. these are very well written as they are simple, easy to follow, and have a serious tone. Sometimes children's fantasy will sometimes be silly, but this one doesn't do that hardly at all.

The depth of lore being explained more as the story unfolds.

The narrator mispronounced Adin, & the Pirrin pipe. Though those are the only annoyance everything else is good.

In the Cavern

This was quite an interesting story. The trio are back on the quest again. It’ll be interesting to see what they find underground.

Awesome

A nice continuation to the original series that has you in its grip from the first minute. No matter how many times I listen to it I feel like I'm hearing it for the first time.

Ron Haddrick is amazing and does amazing work.
