good book

it was a good read, I enjoyed it, I heard most of it before in other books that I've read but there were some new issues I hadn't read about before.

Good advice for novices but……

If you’re not at all experienced with Huskies or a novice dog owner this book has some good general advice on choosing puppies or dogs and how to train them, as well as general info on raising a dog, not necessarily specific to the Siberian Husky breed (BUT as a dog trainer I strongly advise inexperienced dog owners not to get Huskies due to their high prey drive, strong willed-ness and high need for stimulation and attention since they are working dogs, go with a Lab or Golden Retriever, trust me!).

This book gives a lot of solid puppy and dog training and raising advice that is applicable to a large variety of dog breeds, with a few Siberian Husky facts here and there.

I’m disappointed because I was hoping for more specific information about this breed. As I mentioned, I’m a dog trainer, so most of the info contained in this book I’m already aware of. If you’re a professional that wants to learn more about Huskies, I don’t recommend it.

If you’re not very experienced with Huskies and thinking about getting one, this book could be very helpful because it does give some good advice about training them.

The narrator was OK, not the best but I’ve heard worse. :)
