Publisher's summary
When American covert operative Chase Fulton leaves the battlefield to hone and shape the next generation of warriors who would step into his tracks and preserve the very ideals of liberty and freedom from tyranny, he’s forced to face the painful memories and life-altering decisions of his past while driving a new breed of fighters to face his own demons headlong without stumbling.
Just when Chase believes his days of living with a rifle in his hands have finally come to an end and benevolent fate has allowed him to walk away, necessity calls and will not be denied.
A team of American operators deployed to stop an unthinkable act of terror on Western soil has gone missing, leaving no trail and no trace, but Chase and his team must race against the relentless clock and political forces hellbent on burying the truth of their involvement in a terror plot designed to strike at the very foundations of our nation.
Conspiracy, terrorism, tyranny, and contempt for true freedom stand arm in arm against Chase and the team. Will they rise to defeat the diabolical, unyielding forces, or have they finally locked horns with a beast who will not be defeated?

Story
From the author of When America Stopped Being Great, an insightful and urgent reassessment of America’s past, present and future – as a country which is forever at war with itself. Nick Bryant explains how the hate, divisiveness and paranoia we see today are in fact a core part of America’s story. Combining brilliant storytelling, historical research and first-hand reportage, Bryant argues that insurrections, massacres and civil disturbances should sadly not be seen as abnormalities; they are a part of the fabric of the history of America.

This is not CSI. What you encounter as a true bomb detective-or "Bomb Doctor," as some in the FBI call me-are fields of twisted metal containing soot-covered fragments intermingled with human remains. You have carnage and chaos. As you wade into that sea of wailing sirens and screaming survivors awash with the stench of diesel fuel and decaying bodies, your job is to ferret out forensic clues in a type of macabre scavenger hunt to ultimately reconstruct the scene and the explosive device and determine what happened and what the bomb looked like before it was torn asunder.

Another awesome Book by Cap
This was another great book by Cap Daniels. I really enjoyed listening to it, and I love the introduction of the new guy Gator. I think he is going to be a great addition to the team. But I love the interaction between all the team members. But without a doubt, you cannot love what singer brings to the series. I loved Cap’s look about singer a Christian sniper and hope to see more books about the individual team members. Oh, and by the way, the Russian assassin is another one of my all-time favorites! Keep them coming Cap I will keep listening.

One of my favorites!
I love the introduction of Gator! As always, this series is one that makes me drop whatever book I’m listening to just to start the new Chase Fulton book as soon as it’s released. I love the fantasy of unlimited funds buying unlimited tech ideas and weapons and I love the action. A bonus with this particular book is the lack of sappy Chase and Penny dialog. I don’t mind that Penny is in the series but she’s too needy and jealous and their interactions are immature. I always get the impression that she’s not the one for Chase no matter what he says. Anya is. And again I love Gator! Can’t wait for more!
