About this listen

From the New York Times bestselling author of Practice Makes Perfect and The Cheat Sheet comes an expanded edition of The Enemy—a laugh-out-loud romance about rekindling old flames, with a never-before-seen chapter.

Enemies should never get a second chance. But this one might…

It’s been twelve years since June Broaden has seen her high school enemy (and secret crush), Ryan Henderson. That’s a long time to hold a grudge over some petty feud, but the sharp memory of him dangling a kiss at graduation, then pulling away at the last second, has fueled many angry fantasies since. Now’s her chance to get even.

Ryan, along with most of her high school class, is back in town for her best friend’s wedding, and June is eager to show the former bully exactly what he missed out on. A lot has changed since their high school days; June is the Southern queen of gourmet donuts now, not to mention one of the most desired bachelorettes in her small town.

What’s she’s not expecting, though, is for Ryan to show up looking like Adonis and touting his own career success as the youngest chef to ever win three Michelin stars. How dare he try to one up her revenge plot? Luckily June never backs down from a challenge…

The best example of Enemies to Lovers

Another Sarah Adam’s masterpiece! I love the banter that occurs when June and Ryan are denying their feelings for each other and even more so when they accept those feelings. Their longtime “war” made for some hilarious pranking. I laughed, giggled and swooned over their story.

So many time I realized I laughed out loud or smiled so big all throughout this book! I enjoyed it so much! The narrators did such a great job of adding such emotion in their voices! Thank you for this great entertainment!

Sweet!

Sarah Adam’s’ books are some of my favorite. I love spicy just like many women do, but I find myself loving Sarah’s way of telling the story with implied spice. Her characters are alway ALWAYS lovable and I love that.

Great story, perfect summer beach read!

I love this story. This author is really growing on me. However, I was nit a fan of wither narrator at the start of the book. To me, the voices they used made the characters sound like little old people. It was much better by the end the narrators voices didn't keep me from listening. Great, light hearted, summer beach read!

Brilliantly Hilarious

Narration was spot on. The writing was brilliant and hilarious. It’s so refreshing to find a clean romcom! Can’t wait to listen to more from this author and these narrators!

All's well that ends well

At the beginning I was annoyed by June's personality but as the story unfolded I understood her better and Connie did a great job so in the end I enjoyed it. I adored Ryan with his open honesty! I l like that he didn't hide his feelings! And the pranks were pretty funny! Both narrators did a great job! I love books with multiple narrators!

Love This Series!

This series has a special place in my heart ❤️
I’ll start with the narrators because they really bring those two books to life and honestly I don’t know if I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did if not for the narrators. In the first book, I felt Shabshab is the perfect narrator for Sarah Adams’ humor and I feel the same here.
As for the story itself, a smile was plastered on my face for almost the entire book, I sniggered, I laughed, I swooned and my heart was filled with so many positive emotions which means this was a fantastic rom-com that gave me the lovely rejuvenation time I craved during my week. I finished more than half of the book in one day and had to stop only because I had other things to do that I couldn’t combine listening-time with them.
The weird thing is, I’m not a huge fan of hate-to-love stories and I usually don’t like pranks. Here though, it was tasteful in my opinion and it fit the couple and the story. I loved it.
I did have a few small issues with the book, but looking at the book as a whole - I loved and appreciated it and would happily recommend it if you love the synopsis.
