From the Sturmer’s great-granddaughter

Having heard bits and pieces of my great-grandparents’ story, I appreciate the time and effort the Oliver’s took into putting their immigration story into narrative. Full of intrigue and lore growing up, I enjoyed hearing the tales of my great grandparents strung together.

On the writing:
Because there were two writers, you could definitely tell where one writer ended and another began. I do appreciate the explanation and details that was done to clarify cultural and family traditions

On the reader:
I really wish that the reader who recorded took the time and research on learning how to pronounce the traditional Russian monikers for Dedu and Babu, along with other Russian terms throughout the story. Every mispronunciation, I winced.

I hope others enjoy this story, as much as I did.
