Publisher's summary

She's the coach's aggravating daughter. He's the shy guy on first base. They have no idea they're keeping the same secret.

After a devastating accident leaves his throwing hand in shambles, MLB first baseman Dax Sage finds out the woman handling the PR for his recovery is none other than the gorgeous, frigid daughter of his head coach.

She's the last thing he needs in his busy life filled with baseball, late-night gaming with a woman he's never met, and raising his three teenage sisters.

Blake was raised with baseball in her blood, and she hates it for reasons she'll never admit. But when her dad's health takes a hit, she steps up to the plate to handle his latest stressor—the broken first baseman of the Vegas Kings.

She doesn't want anything to do with ball players or the game. She wants to do her job, talk to her faceless gaming partner she's falling in love with, and nothing more.

But she's not about to let her dad down and is determined to make sure Dax Sage doesn't do anything to step out of line with his recovery. With the press breathing down their necks as the new season approaches, Blake digs in deep.

Too deep. Soon enough, the shy guy on the team starts to shatter her walls, and she realizes she might be falling for a type she swore to despise until her last breath.

When she finds out the secret behind her draw to Dax, she's going to fall head over heels in love or run away without looking back.

The Fastball is perfect for listeners who love a good mix of sweet and sizzle, toe-curling kisses, swoony baseball book boyfriends, and a happily ever after in a standalone romance.

The fastball

Good characters and plot. It seemed to go too slow for me with rambling dialogue. The ending made me teary as I’d hoped Sage could have had many more years as a King. But I understand. It was a good ending anyway.

Going for the Fastball.

Dax and Blake are made for each other. They bring out the best of each other and support what matters most in their lives!!! Can't wait for the next round of books!

Great ending!

I really enjoyed getting to know the strong but tender-hearted hero, and the flawed heroine who snuck into his life, and how together they were strong, and helped those around them… I hope there are more books that showcase some of these characters! Lots of humor and meaty story, totally worth the buy!

Slow

A cute story. It was slow with nothing happening for a lot of the book.
