Publisher's summary

Lust. Mystery. Betrayal.

Weston Cavendish. My brother's best friend. I'd perfected the art of pretending that I didn't want him, that he didn't affect me every time he was near.

Or so I thought.

When his world comes crashing down, I'm the one he turns to, and I can't deny my feelings any longer.

I know there's something between us.

Until he finds out that I've been hiding things from him, too.

Broken and betrayed, can we pick up the pieces and work together to expose the truth?

The odds are stacked against us.

But I won't give up without a fight.

The Fight in Us is a stand-alone story but is best enjoyed after the previous three books in the series. This mature new adult romance may contain triggers for some listeners.

The Four

The Fight in Us - A Brother's Best Friend Romance (The Four, Book 4) is a new adult forbidden romance entwined with romance and suspense. Dabbles with a bit of mystery, includes unbreakable bonds, real friendships, light bullying, and history that began as children. The writing style is captivating and the story plot keeps your ear buds in. I loved getting the two epilogues.

Narrators Kelli Tager, Gregory Salinas dual narration performance was excellent. I love both of their inflections. I was drawn in by their compelling performance till the very end.

A Brother's Best Friend Romance

The Fight In Us by Becca Steele is a brother's best friend college romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kelli Tager and Gregory Salinas. This is the fourth book in The Four Series.

The book does come with an author note "The Fight In Us is a standalone story, but is best enjoyed after the previous three books in the series. This mature new adult romance may contain triggers for some readers."

I absolutely love Becca’s books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I have to say I loved Winter and Caiden, but my favorite couple is definitely Weston and Lena! Their relationship is a bit messy but they are perfect for each other. I loved that we got both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Kelli and Gregory did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love brother's best friend's romances, college romances, or romantic suspense.

Enjoyed listening to these two solve problems and come together

Another wonderfully sexy listen in this series. It ls full of secrets and suspense mixed with the budding romance between a couple characters. I really enjoyed getting to know more about these two characters. They really showed more depth than we have seen in the past. Plus getting to know Cassius’ family..woo hoo! They put out a couple great kids.

As always it was wonderful to watch the Four in action! They always make me smile and laugh at some of their antics. We have been seeing more of the darkness that Zayde comes from which makes me excited for his story.

I did listen to this on audio. The narration is excellent.

❤❤❤❤❤

I love how Westy got his own book and his own ending! I would have to say that he was one my favorites, but I do love the others as well. Highly recommend listening to the first 3 books first to get to know West and then listen to his. Kelli and Gregory did an amazing job narrating this book!

I think this was my favorite story of Becca's ❤️

I absolutely loved this book when it released on ebook, I devoured it because I fell for West in Winter and Caiden's trilogy and couldn't wait to find out how he and Lena would work things out. I was not disappointed in the least! I loved how smitten Lena was with West, but she didnt let him walk all over her. I liked her as a MC better than Winter (nothing wrong with Winter, I just think Lena is a total BA and kept surprising us with her skills haha). I loved the nerdiness in this book (as a fellow nerd) and the IT and cyber stuff made me so happy haha. I thought the pace of the book was on point, we get a couple different storylines, with some from the previous trilogy (I would highly recommend reading/listening to those before you dive into this one) and Becca did a phenomenal job weaving them all together. I was surprised by a couple things in this book, which I always love, and I felt the heartache, grief, tension, happiness, angst so much. I can't say it enough, but Becca has become one of my favorite authors from 2020-2021. I am so glad I stumbled onto her from a friend's recommendation.

I won't give too much away with the story because you don't want to be spoiled. I will say I loved the cameos from the other guys in this one. This book sets the stage really well for Cass's book which is coming soon. I saw Cass's love interest coming based on book 3 and 4 of this series (Becca did a good job leaving hints but wasn't like IN YOUR FACE haha). I liked learning more about Zayde and look forward to his book hopefully next year ❤️. Aaaand Kinglsey and her bad man will be sexy and probably will keep us on our toes the whole time haha. I liked we got to see a little of Raine and Carter too. I also loved West and Caiden's dad more in this one, despite the big reveal/hurt they did to West. I loved his advice, so freakin adorable haha. OOOH and West with glasses??!!? Heck yes!!!

Enough rambling haha, let's talk about the audiobook. I would give it a 4-4.5 stars. I thought Kelli and Gregory did a good job again, they are a good pairing after the trilogy with Winter and Caiden. I thought they emoted really hard with some of the of the tough subjects (betrayal, assault, murder, etc.). Good performances with their respective sex/characters (Kelli with Lena and Gregory with West). I just am not a fan of them as much when they do the opposite sex characters. They are 5/5 with their own sex's performance and more of a 4/5 with the opposite sex's performance, if that makes sense. I think if this was done like Trick Me Twice I would easily give it 5/5 for the performance.

5/5 recommend this series and especially this book. I cannot wait to get my hand's on Cass's story and eventually maybe hearing Kian and Preston's love story on audio. Do walk, run to get this audiobook and ebook (and paperback like I did haha). Also, make sure you check out the other audiobooks in this series and Trick Me Twice, you won't be disappointed ❤️

The Fight in Us is outstanding

Weston stole Lena’s heart when she was only eight years old he was her brothers friend and the boy she wanted to notice her.She even took up some of his same interests in hopes it would bring them closer and now it is finally about to.When he turns to her after being dealt a earth shattering blow she so badly wants to be the one to help him.But what will happen when he learns the secrets she has been keeping from him?Now those threaten to take everything she has ever wanted… This spellbinding tale will pull you right in and have you completely wrapped up in its words in a matter of moments.Secrets and lies are being unearthed and lives are being destroyed by them and Lena can’t help but feel at fault for some of it.All she wanted to do was capture the attention of the boy she loved for so long. But the secrets she has been keeping have destroyed all that’s been built between them. With Weston barely hanging on by a thread and falling deeper into a whiskey bottle she can’t help but want to save him.But will he accept her help after everything she brought to the light. This is a slow burn romance, one that takes a lot of patience and forgiveness to take root before it can bloom.Weston and Lena have a huge wedge between them and he isn’t so willing to mend fences. While she meant well her actions completely hurt him and he isn’t really in a place to forgive. The life he knew was wrapped up in deception and he doesn’t really know who he can trust right now.But Lena isn’t willing to give up so easily.she wants him and she is willing to do whatever it takes to prove that to him.The narrators did such a wonderful job telling this story. They did an excellent job bringing Weston and Lena to life.I highly recommend everyone to check this book out.

Great Addition to This Series

I really enjoyed West and Lena's story. I love a good brother's best friend trope and combined with these two's history from Caiden and Winter's story I knew this was going to be a good one. I really enjoyed the audio too. Kelli Tager and Gregory Salinas did a great job with the first three books as well.

*small spoilers ahead*
The Fight in Us starts a little bit before the last books ended, back to before West found out about his mother. It was great going back to the beginning of their relationship as young adults and getting the look at Mercury from their point of view. I had a feeling Lena was her and I love how it played out. I thought West seeing her in a new light was perfect too. She had a crush on him for so long and then he just fell HARD, I loved it. (And the way Cassius handled it *heart eyes* I can't wait for his book.)

I'm also really glad this one delved into the dog fighting ring. I was really bummed that storyline just kind of disappeared during the first set of books. The suspense and action surrounding this were great and kept me hooked.

The ending was really sweet, I loved that they decided to go to therapy together *teary eyes* These two are just so freaking adorable. I was really happy how the feelings with his dad worked out as well. I just loved these two.

The magic of the four.

I am impressed with the author’s view of each couple in the series. I hope to listen to book six on audio and hope creed slips his story in as well.

Expect the unexpected

Becca has written another great story. I was surprised and a little disappointed when I discovered the hero & heroine, but from the beginning of the story I knew it was going to be an incredible journey. Their chemistry is fluid and well developed throughout the book.

Absolutely Loved West's Story!!!

The Fight in Us is book four in The Four series. It is definitely best to read the other books in the series first as they are all interconnected and follow the same set of characters, and although this is a standalone, it would be much more enjoyable to have read the other three books first.

This book is chock full of the drama and suspense that the other books also held, with a brother's best friend romance to make it all that more exciting. I absolutely loved the romance aspect of this book. West was swoony and patitent and sweet and romantic. These two have been interested in each other for what seemed like forever, so it was really nice to see them get their happily ever after, though there were a few bumps along the way for sure.

The audiobook was fantastic. Kelli Tager and Gregory Salinas's narration truly helped bring this story to life and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. I cannot wait for more from this author with regard to this cast of characters. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock
