Publisher's summary

For Michael Roberts it was an ordinary day until the sirens began to blare. Then the evacuation order came through.

The first step outside, he knew his world would never be the same. The city was in ruins. The people were people no more... changed into ravenous walking evil.

Michael's true terror was about to begin....

Unique Zombie Book

Very unique one man show done in a 1st person narrative. He’s describing the beginning of the apocalypse and more. The narrator is really important in a 1st person narrative and Salzman does an incredible job. He brings you into his world at the moment. What a different way to tell a story.

Highly recommended.

awesome

Always been a fan of S. W. narrations, now a fan of his writing. gripping, edge of seat and can't put down this story. The author's wit, grip on emotional strings and ability to truly tell a great story shins through in this one.
Would love to read listen to more in this world.

A Zombie's Autobiography

I hope that title isn't too spoilery, but c'mon, the title of the book is "Final Day". Our protagonist relates his story of how his world ended, his final 24 hours. I really enjoyed this book, mostly because we rarely get such an intimate view into the mind of a man slowly turning into a zombie. This story might not be as flashy or packed with action as some, but I know I enjoyed it.

Salzman does a great job bringing the cast to life (and undeath). If you want a zombie story that isn't just another rehash, I'd suggest this one.

intense

Salzman brought the first 24 hours of the zpoc to life in an intense and dramatic way. The passion he narrates this story with makes it obvious he wrote the characters as if he was living it.

Highly recommend this book for any fans of the zpoc.

Mixed Emotions on this one...

I'm a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre and some of the zombie genre audiobooks as well. I think the author did a good job in the writing of this story, however it gets pretty depressing.

The narration was incredibly difficult to listen to which in turn makes it difficult to relate with the characters. They're essentially indistinguishable from one another. That's why my biggest suggestion to fiction authors is ALWAYS hire a professional voice actor/narrator.

A refreshing perspective on the zombie apocalypse

A surprisingly fresh take on the ZomPoc genre!

This book was told first person, present tense, and follows a man through 24 hours after the zombie apocalypse starts. He's bitten early on, and is fighting the change throughout, and the internal struggle he goes through was a real treat to witness.

I usually don't care for zombie stories. There's just too many of them, and they all run together and are largely boring to me. But this one stood out with the cool perspective, the heart wrenching moments as our hero (?) is fighting back the urge building within him.

The change in the narrative when the change would start to try and overcome him was startling and chilling, a thrill to read. And the ending rips your guts out and slaps you with them.

If you're a zombie fan, this is certainly for you. If you're not, like me, you may find a gem in the genre. Take a peak, and bring some tissues. This one was really good.

so darn good, a must have!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

So, I have enjoyed a few of S.W. Salzman's books that he has narrated. Seeing that he both wrote and narrated these books, I was quick to go for it. I am a huge fan of the zombie apocalypse genre and this was a great take on it. I absolutely loved the internal struggle the main character goes through in this book. It really changed the feel of the story and added depth to a genre that often lacks any. I would call this a must buy for any fan of the genre.
