Publisher's summary

Things in the Vale of Dreams are...complicated. Anpu has tasked our intrepid heroes with recovering the next piece of the Devourer from the depths of the Forbidden Barrows, but entry to the dungeon is heavily regulated.

With a major player guild gatekeeping most of the quests necessary to earn enough reputation to gain an audience with the elven priests promised to assist in their venture, it's going to be a hell of a time.

Yes: stats, cursing, VR

No: harem, explicit, wearing crocks with socks

As always the bridge works

It's always the bridge works this continues the story but at the same time it progressive things in a way that allow us to be prepared for what's going next and has some really good pop culture references and are placed in the correct place Hopefully the next one will come out with a next few weeks can't wait for to come out

Another home run!

For an author that I have never heard of before this series, J. Arthur Klein consistently knocks it out of the park with Sosaku Online. There is a vibrancy to his writing that really lets you see the scenery in your mind. The fights in the dungeons are always edge-of-your seat listening and this book has several of those scenes. I won't give anything away but there seems to be some movement in the world outside regarding some ones health. Hopefully we'll see a bit more relationship progression in the next book. Anyway, this is just another superb episode in this line up!

Great Story Continuation

This story keeps getting better as is continues. J. Arthur Klein continues to impress me with the depth of this story and the characters he has created. The uphill struggles throughout this series are easy to imagine for anyone who plays RPG style games. I need book 4 to hurry up and be released.

The narration by Daniel Wisniewski has been phenomenal. From the different characters to the depth of telling the story he has performed flawlessly.

excellent addition to the series

an awesome continuation of the story and conclusion of the current zone with a lead into the next section. even though it ends with a cliffhanger again it just adds to the excitement for book 4. all in all a highly recommended series

What a great book 3!

The MC is a hero both inside and outside of the game.
The partner's relationship is, of course, growing.
One of the best things I love about this series is that it is proper GameLit/LitRPG. Both the real world and game world play significant roles in this series.
I don't want to give too much away here because this book, and series, is awesome and you need to experience it yourself.
If you like GameLit and LitRPG you're going to love this series.
Not a harem series.

The adventure continues with the Fae!

I had quite a bit of fun with this one as well. I like the increase in fights and capabilities of our favorite team. Plus we got some fun new additions. One of them is especially funny! Who doesn’t love a grandmother who says whatever she wants and relatives are forced to just grown! And she plays a video game!!! I have NEVER heard of this before! I LOVED it!

The main storyline seems to be raising the stakes continuously and steadily. But we still get our fun side quests and just fun times.

Wisniewski is getting better and better!

Sword art online + D&D meme tropes 4 fn & profit

Daniel is one of my favorite Narrators, but it would be so much better if a lady read for the female parts. Audio books with pairs of Narrators have spoiled me, so I have to take away a star when I see one Narrator these days.
- The story was interesting, A little sword art online, meets D&D, with plenty of geeky tropes, and memes referenced for a bit of nostalgia relatablity. It kind of draws you in, making you realize the story takes place a generation or three from the readers perspective. where nostalgia is a hipster trend for the kids to share. I almost related to the elderly characters more than the younger ones myself, I could see a younger listener doing the opposite.
- it's mostly from the perspective of one character. Until he party up, then it teases you with a few interesting side characyers, leaving the side characters a little forgotten. But still interesting to me. If you don't find the main character relatable, it might be a little more boring.
- Like with many TT RPG themed stories there's a bit to much combat for my taste, The stats could be set up in their own chapters to be easily skipped for those less interested in being bogged down in the middle of a chapter with stats that will change soon enough to be forgotten. Alas they kind of break the tempo of the story a little to often to be appreciated otherwise.
- All in all, I found it interesting, And I adore Daniel Wisniewski, I ❤️ most of the books he's Narrated for. Including this one.
- But hey, *as Levar Buryon would put it,) Don't take my word for it' Give it a listen for yourself and see if it's to your taste.
