About this listen
What if the mission you were born to fulfill in this lifetime was a blank page in your memory?
Journey with a gifted Irish orphan as she is reminded of her own promise to heaven and sets out to fulfill it despite the fallen takers she will face along the way. See the world as you've never seen it...through the eyes of The Girl Who Walked into the Light.
Irish orphan Jian Byrne is beautiful, gifted and lost. She can see people’s auras, travel out-of-body to realms on high and remember perfectly. But her missing family is a wound that has never healed. When her grandmother dies Jian falls hard. She is lured into the local drug scene. One night while she sleeps a fiery being appears and reminds her of the mission she was born to fulfill. She is guided to great friends of light, comes face to face with diabolical takers and resurrects an almost hopeless quest to find her family.
The Girl Who Walked into the Light begins the story of a humble girl’s journey of rediscovery of her true nature and the forgotten promise she made long ago.

Story
Meanwhile, Gillan McArdle’s academic career is ending because of one stupid lapse of judgement. Offered a short-term contract, he lands on the Hebridean island of Harris to investigate obscure animal bones. Quickly dismissing the unicorn skull as a thinly disguised fake, he can’t deny there’s something unusual about these bones. Baited by rumors of a majestic tusked horse roaming the uplands, Gill begins to suspect someone is manipulating him. As he gradually unravels the mystery of the skull, he grasps a disturbing conclusion: If this creature does exist, the evidence suggests it’s a killer.

I duck beneath the window of the car, and my heart thumps as my hand jumps to my chest. But I’m not wearing my yellow star now, I left it with my sister. Tears well in my eyes. Story
Two teenagers, a Greek Cypriot and a Turkish Cypriot, meet at a taverna on the island they both call home. In the taverna, hidden beneath garlands of garlic, chili peppers and creeping honeysuckle, Kostas and Defne grow in their forbidden love for each other. A fig tree stretches through a cavity in the roof, and this tree bears witness to their hushed, happy meetings and eventually, to their silent, surreptitious departures. The tree is there when war breaks out, when the capital is reduced to ashes and rubble, and when the teenagers vanish.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

I enjoyed every minute
I felt as though I was present in every scene of this book. It is a rip roaring adventure filled with interesting and thought provoking insights into the world beyond and the battle of light and dark . I loved becoming acquainted with the various characters and the relationships that developed between them.
Nora’s voice has a gentle and delightful lilt and is perfectly suited to the story . I highly recommend listening to The Girl Who Walked into the Light.
