About this listen

How far would you go to protect your family?

Mark Burcham and his wife Amy live the perfect life: they have a happy marriage, a comfortable home in Los Angeles and a beautiful daughter, Tatum. But one night Amy fails to come home from a business trip to Boston, and her office has no record of a client on the east coast.

Then Mark gets the worst news of all; Amy has been found dead. But nothing makes sense. Why was Amy still in town, when he’d waved her off at the airport a few days before? Who was the mysterious client she’d been meeting with for months? There’s only one thing Mark knows for certain: his wife was keeping secrets.

As he digs deeper into the life Amy tried to keep hidden, Mark realizes that someone is trying to stop him, someone who is watching his every move. And when they threaten Tatum to keep him from discovering the truth, Mark will stop at nothing to keep his family safe…

Don't miss this utterly gripping thriller from Steve Frech, perfect for fans of Chad Zunker, Joe Hart and Robert Dugoni.

Decent storyline, narration just ok

Agree with other reviews that the narrator’s female voices, as well as Malcom’s voice, were cringe. The story kept me interested, but I think I’d recommend reading the print version.

Interesting Story Good Twist

The book is intriguing from the beginning inviting the reader/listener into mirada of outcomes. Character development was well done. Writing was good, at times things became a bit sluggish. Mark is relentless in his pursuit to find his wife’s killer. The emotional toll it takes definitely conveys.

Narration was ok. The various secondary character voices just did not sound convincing.

TERRIFIC BOOK!

Really enjoyed this book with excellent character development and a meaty plot. Had many unexpected twists which kept me wanting to read more. I plan to ok for another book by this same author.

Exciting plot that kept me guessing

I loved the main character and the reader’s interpretation of him. Story mystery evolved excitingly and the ending was so satisfying! I will read much more of this author! Excellent mystery writing!

It really had a surprise ending!

This was a good book. It had a great storyline, and I was never bored. What a surprise ending! My only complaint was the performance; the narrator's "female" voices were just horrible. Otherwise, I recommend it.

The ending was interesting

It was an interesting listen. My only frustration with it was figuring out early the twist as to who was killed.

Boring Narration.

I wish the story was not just told from the HUSBAND’s perspective. I get it, he’s in the title, but it would have been nice if Amy told her story in there somewhere. It would have made this audio book a more engaging, who dun-it, suspenseful one. The narration coming from just one perspective made it so boring, but the plot was good. I had to get myself to the end.
I will skip this author. It not worth the $10+ bucks.

dumb

This is a stupid story overall. The narrator tried too hard and his female voices were pretty bad.

Not Good!

"The Good Husband" was NOT good.

When I say "Not Good", I am not referring to the book's "good" husband/protagonist.

Instead, I am referring to the book itself.

Waaaay too many unrealistic and eye-rolling moments.

The book's first major "twin" twist was predictable.

Also, this book should have been categorized as YA fiction.

Hearing about the protagonist's teen daughter's method of birth control in a thriller was TMI and very YA!

Throughout Jason Keller's entire narration, I felt like he was talking down to readers.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
