Publisher's summary

Heartsick about her on-again, off-again boyfriend-werewolf, Fiona O’Malley is struggling to make the hardest decision of her life - if she should break up with him once and for all. Though she knows he loves her and is sweet, funny and kind, he’s just not the sort of guy you can depend upon, especially in the romance department.

Immortal Matthew “Matty” Hyland is crazy in love with Fiona. He’d do anything to make her happy. Though he tries repeatedly to be there for her, things just keep getting in his way. Broken promises and no-shows for their dates keep happening. He knows Fiona is about at the end of her patience and is on the verge of cutting him loose forever.

Just as he’s about to pop the question, things go from seriously bad to crazy worse. Captured by a bounty hunter, the couple is pursued by an evil gangster bondsman and mysterious Druids. Fiona is giving her all to help him - all the while not knowing if their love can survive all the turmoil they’re facing in addition to the issues they’ve had in the past. Matty is desperate to make it up to her and prove he can change, so they can be together forever.

One thing is certain, magic, adventure, and true love ensues when The Immortal Takes a Wife!

Love Will Find a Way

I just love the narrator’s voice! I adored Matie and Fiona as they navigated their way to each other. Full of action and laughs, this was worth the price I paid.

Good continuousness of the NF story line.

Good book, for some reason I thought it dragged a little and did not fully keep my attention as much as the other Nocturne Falls books, but still good. I love everything that BJ Harrison reads, he has the perfect voice.

Not my favorite story

I have listened to every single Nocturne falls and Nocturne falls universe book. I feel this story was rather depressing and not at all in the Spirit as all the other Nocturne falls and Nocturne falls universe entries. So, while I had a hard time liking the book because of the darkness in it, it was also the longest story in the Nocturne Falls Universe series. Other than this second to last story, I have enjoyed every single minute of listening to BJ Harrison help me through the last few months of this COVID-19 nightmare. I wish there were more adventures in nocturnal Falls, and like everyone else I would love to be living there right now. Thank you Kristen Painter and everyone else!

Disappointing and Melodramatic

I've enjoyed the Nocturne Falls and Shadowvale books by Kristin Painter. But, this was a disappointing addition to the NF universe. Too little character development and far, Far too much repeating of the same emotional sentiments -- loving GF with undeserving BF with a heart of gold, characters introduced without follow-up, and a climax in the last half of the last chapter that leaves you thinking 'Seriously?'

My least favorite Nocturne Falls Universe Story

I have listened to almost every Nocturne Falls and Nocturne Falls Universe book, and this is by far my least favorite. So much so that I couldn’t even finish listening to it. The main characters are whiny wishy washy babies who can’t own up to their own mess and handle it, even when people around them are spoon feeding them solutions. That doesn’t jive with the whole supernaturals persona that this series has built up (bada$$, strong, determined). Also, it doesn’t really take place in Nocturne Falls, instead mainly features Underworld, some nearby-ish alternate dimension place. It has none of the locals I’ve come to love in it, none of the shops all the other characters frequent. It’s also pretty dark (as is her other Nocturne Falls book). Like talk of trading women for a bounty, torture, etc. not my cup of tea at all, and feels really out of line with this Universe. Would not recommend.

Worse book by far in Nocturn Falls series

it comes across as written for something other than Nocturn Falls and it was very minor adaptation to it.

Disappointed

narrator was good. Story was hard to continue listening to - very repetitive with the same story problem between heroine and hero.

Way too violent an opening

this book opened with such a violent set of scenes it does not belong in the nocturne falls universe I returned it. If you like that sort of thing try a crime mystery instead. I returned it and can't recommend it as anything at all consistent with why my library is packed with nocturne falls where conflict is resolved much more artistically.
