About this listen

At midnight, one of them is dead. By morning, all of them are suspects.

It's the party to end all parties . . . but not everyone is here to celebrate.

On New Year's Eve, Rhys Lloyd has a house full of guests. His vacation homes on Mirror Lake are a success, and he's generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbors.

But by midnight, Rhys will be floating dead in the freezing waters of the lake.

On New Year's Day, Ffion Morgan has a village full of suspects. The tiny community is her home, so the suspects are her neighbors, friends and family—and Ffion has her own secrets to protect.

With a lie uncovered at every turn, soon the question isn't who wanted Rhys dead . . . but who finally killed him.

In a village with this many secrets, murder is just the beginning.

Pay Attention!

This book has lots of characters and lots of connections between and among all those characters. I liked the story and I like the author. I read her book HOSTAGE and enjoyed that as well.

Very very good

Classic kind of whodunit (lots of interesting suspects who all have a great reason to hate the guy who was murdered) beautifully executed by both author and reader. Smartly written with twists I did not see coming, and I read a lot of mysteries. Great central characters that I look forward to spending more time with. Big thumbs up.

Good Nice Twists

Excellent character development and the writing was also good. I’m not sure identifying Rhys as this deplorable villain hated by everyone was accurate. Certainly he made enemies but it almost minimized what he had done in the past and present as his victimizations seemed to be smaller. Main characters really emerged well having endured so much.

Narration was great for the location and characters!!

Keeps you guessing

The story was good but long. I did like the twists and turns and the fluctuations in the timeline. The narrator did a great job

Keep Guessing

Great presentation of characters. Too many times I had to stop story & remember who is who! Great reader!

A bit confusing

Hard to follow. I think it was the accent. Didn’t love it. It was just okay.

Just ok, seemed long

The book was ok, I finish it but it dragged and seemed slow. Not much of a mystery
