Powerful emotions and a final twist

Something happened when Ian was still a child, and he was blamed about it. Something that has been with him since then. His only choice is going back where it all started.

This is a short story about a man who needs to face his past. The story is very well and richly told. It was easy to connect to Ian and understand his motivations. At times the emotions transmitted were very strong, and the story kept me on the edge of my seat.

There is a twist that I didn’t see coming. I personally didn’t really enjoy this turn of things, but I’m sure it will delight others.

Rick Gregory delivered a great narration, transmitting Ian’s powerful emotions, keeping my attention until the very end with a very clear speech. The only setback were a couple of noticeable audio edits, but technically the rest of the audio production was fine.

I received a copy of this book in audio format from the narrator in exchange for an honest review.

Weird...

So, what started as a kids, goosebumps-type, story ended up as a gory, definitely adult story. Creepy and nostalgic, and well read.i don't know what else to say, except that it exceeded my expectations, while still managing to shock me. An excellent modern fairytale, in the sense of the grimmest of the Grimm's.

I wasn't expecting vampires..

Ian has lead a self destructive life since his family was killed when he was a teen and sets out to get revenge on the ones responsible which happen to be vampires.. Mmm... Okay.. Was this a young adult title? If I were a young teen, I would have loved this but as an adult, the story was lacking depth and creativity. It was mildly entertaining for a quick story.
As for the reader.. Well, I think i detected a bit of a Wisconsin accent and I suggest he try to lose it. Other than that not too bad.
Aside from a bit of bad language, I recommend this for tween/teens.

Great short thriller

Great short thriller by Kevin Millikin! It starts out in the past when Ian's family moves into a new home. They soon find out it has a dark secret and Ian loses his family. 15 years later, Ian comes back for revenge! Great narration by Rick Gregory!

Paranormal Revenge Story

I'm a sucker for revenge stories ever since I read The Count of Monte Cristo. This was a short and sweet story of revenge. Revenge on the paranormal is gory and brutal. A lot of times I say I wish that story were longer, this one wasn't that way at all. Perfect length for this story.
Another great read by Rick Gregory.

An Awesome Surprise

I thoroughly enjoyed this short horror/paranormal thriller! Rick Gregory always delivers a fantastic performance and Kevin Millikin weaves a bizarre and enthralling story of familial love, loss and revenge. A man accused of murdering his family journeys home to confront his past and seek vengeance on those actually responsible for the horrific event. I would recommend this book to any friends who enjoy the horror/thriller genre!

Haunting tale of regret and revenge. Creepy

A quick story about one man’s search for revenge and redemption. Fast paced and to the point. The characters are built with expedient care and the main character is in almost every scene. The psychological aspect was well detailed about the guilt the main character is experiencing and how he plans to make amends. I would recommend this story to anyone who likes short psychological horror. Would have been interesting to explore the creatures more but as it stands, it was a good story.
The narrator did a fine job. He brought the characters to life. His voice does get a little morose at times but these are few and far between a and do not effect the overall enjoyment.

I was given a review copy of this audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Horror Thriller

I really enjoyed this short horror more than author’s Summer of 68, give it a listen. It took Ian 15 year to revenge his family, especially his 7 yr. old sister Elle. His life during these years was destructible hard before his final decision to do right. The book contains gore, violence and demons and love of family and his final goodbye. Good narration. Recommend to anyone who enjoys horror. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you!
