Finding your happily-ever-after is complicated when your matchmaker is a cat....

Beau's happy at sea until his father passes and leaves him with an odd last request. Now he's setting up shop in a small town, searching for ogres, and, inconveniently, falling for the miller's sister - who just happens to be taken with someone else.

It soon becomes clear that if Etta and Beau want to get anywhere, they'll need not only each other's help, but the cat's as well. But putting your trust in a feline is difficult, especially when you're not exactly sure what it is he has planned....

I thought the story was fun. I have a hearing disability, and there were spots where I could not understand the performance words. That is the only reason I marked the performance down a star. And I know it sounds like that’s a me problem, but I can usually understand most audiobooks because they come through my hearing aids. This particular book’s performance just had a lot of soft spots.

This was such a fun Puss in Boots retelling! Shari's writing is always absolutely incredible, and this story was such an easy read. This is only the second Puss in Boots retelling I've ever read, but I've actually really enjoyed both. An interesting spin that kept enough elements of the fairy tale to feel familiar.

This is a charming take on Puss in Boots. It involves a love triangle between a prince, a chocolatier, and a young woman with a fighting spirit. It’s a fairytale setting, so there are no betrayals and the only villain is the ogre. The narrator’s impression of the cat is raspy, which is unpleasant but appropriate for the character. Otherwise she’s pleasant to listen to.

This story of Puss in Boots has a unique way of bringing romance into it! The characters are amazing and it will keep you wanting more!

I really enjoyed this version of Puss in Boots. The author is excellent, as are the narrators. I will look forward to Ms. Tapscott's further works.

Great characters that seem to grow an change as we get to know them and they face new tests. I loved the way the Shari changed up the original and the complete over view of the story in it's entirety, it was beautifully paced in this soothing while intriguing way just like true old fairytales were. It was just awesome the way it goes from one level to the next as the characters get themselves deeper in to a certain "master" plan. The parts where they almost tossed that particular master out a carriage window left me in tears laughing so hard. Loads interesting twists and a cunning sense of justice. Getting book 2 now, if it says not on audible search it by the title it's not all listed together for some reason.

Now, when you hear Puss in Boots you generally would think, A furry cute Cat wearing boots and a hat with feather right?

Not at all with Shari L Tapscott audible! You have a persnickety cat, a Dashing Prince and a lonesome villager with a hidden identity. A young woman seeking adventure, and a clean romance and you have the tale.
The narrators did a fantastic job with the narration!

This was a nice escapist fantasy romance. Very sweet, clean, and innocent. I loved it. A happily-ever-after little adventure for any age.

The heroine of this tale is a remarkable young woman. In a way, this is a coming of age fairy tale. In another, it is a study in love and respect, selflessness and courage. The readers are skillful and pleasant. The story held me spellbound-such a pleasant twist on traditional fairy tales where the only attribute the heroine has is her beauty. Three dimensional characters fill out the story. Unexpectedly good, especially the cat! Cat lovers, feminists and romantics will greatly enjoy this short, modern take on a very old fairy tale.
