Publisher's summary

“If you want to discover and live your purpose, read Nicholas Pearce’s book. Not only will it inspire you to become who you were born to be - it will also will show you how.” (Ken Blanchard, New York Times best-selling coauthor of The One Minute Manager)

This program includes a foreword read by Parker J. Palmer.

How to build a meaningful career with a moral center and a purpose in the world.

Some of the world's most successful companies - Google, Disney, Starbucks - are not simply profit-driven, but purpose-driven. They identify the purpose behind why they do what they do and let their "why" drive what they do every day.

Nicholas Pearce argues that we all should do the same: discover our "why" and commit to the journey of aligning our daily work with our life's work. The Purpose Path is for people in any field who long to have more than just a job or a career, but a true vocation that allows them to connect their soul with their role.

The Purpose Path is organized around five key questions:

  • What is success?
  • Who am I?
  • Why am I here?
  • Am I running the right race?
  • Am I running the race well?

Nicholas Pearce sits at the unconventional intersection of academia, business, and faith. With examples and advice, he shows how he and other people in a variety of fields and at different life stages have asked and answered these five questions in order to start, shape, or even radically change their careers.

Inspiring, thought-provoking, and practical, The Purpose Path is an essential audioook for anyone who seeks the clarity and courage to advance their authentic life's work every day.

Enlightening

This book helped me articulate more clearly traits I need in board members for my fledgling organization. It also served as a reminder for me to stay true my calling and the cause. Kudos to the author.

Great for personal exploration

Loved the substance of the book. Dr Pearce spoke to areas of my life that I need to evaluate to connect purpose to my work. Some of the illustrative stories went longer than necessary for me. Would have preferred. to hear more of Dr Pearce's personal experience and research.

Making your work line up with your purpose

Find fulfillment in your daily work - loved it!
This book, as the name suggests, gives insight into how an individual can awaken one's consciousness to purposeful living, and then summon the courage to ask questions as to whether daily activities are consistent.

The author uses his background as an organizational and leadership researcher, along with his spiritual leadership to provide thoughts on addressing the issues of purpose and vocational courage. This is not a religious book, but consistent with the topic on vocational courage, the author is drawing from everything that has shaped him, a big part of which is his spiritual background, to pursue work (in this case a book) that is in line with perceived purpose.

I encourage everyone who desires further insight on purposeful living and personal long lasting fulfillment to approach the ideas in the book with an open and receptive mind.

Content may be good, but delivery made it hard to listen to

This feels and sounds like a research paper. I couldn’t get past the first couple of chapters.
