Publisher's summary

A new boss. An old castle. A life-changing secret.

When mild-mannered Dr. Catherine Kensie arrives at Dunhaven Castle in the Scottish Highlands, estate manager Jack Reid isn’t sure what to expect from his new American boss. Other than adjusting to her preferences, though, he doesn’t foresee many issues.

That is, until the new countess begins experiencing strange phenomena within the castle walls. With Cate’s reports of people roaming the halls and phantom voices, Jack begins to investigate.

What he and Cate discover will alter the course of their lives...and possibly history.

While this novella is part of a series, it can be listened to as a stand-alone. This book can be listened to in addition to or instead of The Secret of Dunhaven Castle, book one in the Cate Kensie Mysteries series.

The Secret Keepers

If you have read Dunhaven Castle Book 1 with Cate moving to Scotland, meeting Jack, and enlisting his aid to help her solve the mystery of the watch she inherited along with the castle in Scotland, I personally wouldn't waste my money on getting this book/audiobook. Even though its short, apx. 2 hours or so, its a repeat only from Jack's point of view. The narrator did a good job, but something about his voice or vocal performance on this one just didn't hold my interest. It's up to you as to which you prefer.. Its just ok in my opinion.

The back story

If you have listened to books one and two of the series, you really don’t need to listen to this one. I did as I wanted a reminder of the events of the first story. As a history lover , I’m with Kate on this story. How amazing it would be to time travel! I look forward to more in the series.
