A key DEA agent has been kidnapped by drug runners. As much as the news angers Presidential Agent Castillo, he thinks there’s no way he could get permission to rescue the man. W.E.B. Griffin

I am a person who reads (listens) to many books. The books I enjoy most are those where the author creates a series of books and really builds on the characters. I have now sampled all of the WEB series and read, or listened to all of the Presents Man series.

All of the books have their special set of characters and the characters are built betwen each book. Yes, the books are slow reading. You need to really appreciate and "live" the characters lives. However, if you enjoy a great suspense read and really enjoy getting to know a character inside and out this is the author for you.

Fantastic "listen"

This fourth book in the Presidential Agent series is another fantastic "read" from WEB Griffin. These are books that are definitely best read in the right order (although not absolutely critical). Dick Hill does a great job of keeping himself "in character" with his voice variations. These are easy books to listen to, with very interesting, albeit not totally unpredictable plots for WEB. The genre of novels featuring independently wealthy public servants who use their independent wealth in the prosecution of their duty has become something of a hallmark for this writer, going all the way back to his brilliant Brotherhood of War series..but if you liked that, you will find equal listening pleasure in the Presidential Agent series. Not 100% believable but definitely 100% entertaining. These books make commuting a pleasure. I would give this book a solid 8 out of 10 and recommend it to my friends without hesitation.

I am really enjoying this series of books

I really like these books. I think Max is my favorite character. Lol

The only reason I didn't give the narrator 5 stars was because sometimes I had to go back 15 seconds several times to pickup all the names and technical details. However to be fair this may have more to do with my hearing and what else I was doing at the time.

Good Yarn

Though the author is obviously a civilian and never had any military experience (a Lieutenant in the US Army has two gold bars not silver, a Lt Col has silver oak leaf and a "bird colonel" has silver eagle) the story is a good yarn.

If you overlook the glaring mistakes in the technical details the story is good and keeps the listener interested. If you love Tom Clancey stay away from Griffin as the two do not compare. However, if you have an afternoon and the credits, the story is worth a listen.

For the Author, do some research before beginning a story it could save some embarassment.

Simple things like latitude and LONGITUDE. Rank insignia and Army society could help as well. Also a brief study of the sciences could help with the distance a satellite is from earth.

Very well done once again by W.E.B.Griffin LBROWN

A fast paced tail of the fist order . Much expected of Griffin. I found it hard to put down. This story really developed the characters.
I will read it again during the series.

Great action, Unforgettable characters!

Mr Griffin's ability to build unique and memorable characters , sets him on that rarely achieved literary plateau, with the likes of Dickens, Clancy, and Cussler. His stories provide hours of entertainment and pleasure!
