About this listen

Wind down by escaping into nature. Part soundscape and part bedtime story, The Sleeping World is an intimate journey through ecologies around the world.

Humpback whales are among the most intelligent animals on Earth. Some scientists believe they might even surpass humans in self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills. In this episode, we swim with a whale as he teams up with other humpbacks to use bubbles to catch fish, rescues a sea lion, and puts his own spin on melodies sung by whales across the Pacific Ocean.

This is the world in its natural state, defined by seasons, routines, and cycles. By the time this whale is ready to close one eye and go to sleep, you will be too.

Delightfully Engaging

The calming sounds of water, whale song, and the narrator’s voice made for a beautiful journey and informative experience. I played it a second time right after the gentle bubbling water faded gradually into silence. I look forward to listening again at bedtime.
Thank you for this wonderful discovery!

Best of the Best in Every way! TY

I truly truly love everything about this collection of Sleep episodes. Each on a different subject, mostly of animals whose life story is told in such a way that you are not far off from sleep once it starts. BUT….. for me, now, all other Narrators in my Audible Collections will be held to a higher standard. She gets the job done with her voice both in tone and deliverance. (Although, Titus Weliver needs no lessons for to get ya to sleep. Not to dis on Bosch but, ya’ll know.
And, she will leave you ready for sleep just to hear how it turns out, lol. I have No problem listening to these enjoyable stories with such paramount narration. Thank you,
