On the night of her high school graduation, Richelle Bach’s father gives her and her identical twin sister, Michelle, matching opal necklaces. “These opals look identical,” he tells them, “but the fire inside each is completely unique - just like the two of you.” Indeed, the two sisters couldn’t be more different, and their paths diverge as they embark on adulthood. Years pass, until - at their father’s behest - they both come home for Christmas. What happens then forever damages their relationship, and Richelle vows never to see or speak to her sister again.

Story
Nathan Hurst hated Christmas. For the rest of the world, it was a day of joy and celebration; for Nathan it was simply a reminder of the event that destroyed his childhood. But then a snowstorm, a canceled flight, and an unexpected meeting with a young mother and her very special son show him that Christmas is indeed the season of miracles.

Simple but memorable
This is a simplistic story, but incredibly hard to put down. In the end, this book stayed with me and inspired me more than I thought it would. I strongly recommend it.

Great love story
Would you listen to The Sunflower again? Why?
I would listen to the story again because as a nurse, I plan to retire and provide care and love to others. In this story, the protagonist does that out of love and healing for himself.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the female protagonist came back to be with the love of her life.
Any additional comments?
Will be reading The Promise by same author next.

Nothing was bad - I love this author! He has a wonderful way with words! I hate spiders too but that doesn’t kill the story!

I have re-read this bookover again.
loved it. I listened to the book recently and found it as fascinating as when I read it previously. Generally I enjoy the book and then listen to it or see the movie. The book almost always is my favorite. I really did love the audible as well.
