Oracular, aphoristic style. Verse translation.

Not a "basic teachings" book. More of a collection of sayings and aphorisms to meditate upon. This version has passages in verse.

Liked it better after a second read.

Enjoyable!

Narrator has the right kind of voice for this. I liked the simpler language approach in this translation.

great but...

would be easier to follow with an ebook or a physical book. overall, I still enjoyed it when I could sit quietly and really focus.

Way too quickly spoken

This is a deeply meditative work. The narrator, while clear is speaking so quickly I can barely have time to register the idea before he moves on to the next verse, and I have read this before! There are no inflections in this narrator’s reading as if he has no idea what the words are trying to convey. Even at 75% speed it’s still awkward to listen to. Go elsewhere if you have never read/ heard the Dao De Ching before.

Too fast!!!

This was a nice translation, but was entirely too fast to allow for contemplation. Had to constantly turn it off.
