Publisher's summary

Gabe lives a double life. As Gabriel Henson, he works multiple jobs to support his remorseless alcoholic mother. As Tony Ryder, he does Internet porn for extra cash. When he encounters a scared young man freaking out in a nightclub, Gabe is compelled to reach out. Ever since then the memory of that young man has haunted him.

Tristan Lavelle lives his life 30 minutes at a time. After a traumatic brain injury three years ago, he gets through his days recording his life in spiral notebooks and sticky note reminders. A month after Tristan's embarrassingly public meltdown, another chance meeting with Gabe sparks a warm, emotionally fulfilling email relationship. Both men crave more but fear of the next step stands between them - until Tristan gets the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that could improve his memory.

Not as good as first in series but worth it

As I thoroughly enjoyed book 1, this one was a bit of a let down. Not as much going on, too slow and not unique enough from first book. Enjoyed Tristan's dealing with memory loss, thought that was a nice perspective but that was the only really good part of the whole story.

I chose to give it 5 stars anyway because had I not read this directly after book 1, put a month or two between them, it might not have been so slow and repetitive.

Still thought narrator was only average.

Performance too slow.

This was a lovely story, but the performer read entirely too slow. I had to put the speed at 1.5x in order to listen to it.

Sweet Book!

I really liked this book. I loved Tristan's character, he's someone you want to jump into the book and just Hug. lol. And I am really Glad that Gabe is fine with Tristan's memory loss issues and that it doesn't affect their relationship too much. I was also happy with the fact that Tristan is ok with Gabe's Job in the porn industry as well. That was a happy plus to the story. Not too much angst in this book like the first one it was the perfect amount of everything. This is my favorite so far from this series.
Audio - Again Guy does a great job with this one. I really liked his voice for Tristan on this one and had no problem following along with the story at all. Glad to see he is also listed as the narrator for book 3 and I will be listening to that one next.

Feel good listen

Although real life, heavy themes, well written to keep the tension, but not bring you down. Woven well to get to the HEA. Narration, excellent. Fave of the series so far; want more of this couples story.

Beautiful story, dynamic narration

I loved this story even more than the first one in the series. Unlike many spinoffs, this one shows us much more of the first couple, especially Noel and his best friend, the undeniably adorable Tristan. The narrator read just a tad too slow for me, so I listened at 1.1x speed. The voices were well distinguished, and the meaning and emotions were well conveyed.

Character development

The storyline was good however for a character like Noel who played such an important role in the story he was very much unappreciated.

Performance improved when I bumped up the speed

I am rubbish at reviewing, books, but I want to add to the other reviews. I agree the narration seemed a little dull, but by increasing the playback speed to 1.25x - it improved the narrators performance a lot.

Great Sequel

Really enjoyed this second book. Good to follow up with Gabe, Tristan, etc. Good resolutions to several themes. Recommend highly. Narrator's voice really grew on me.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I was excited about Tristan's book! After book 1 I was curious about him and how he would get his HEA. I loved the way the author gave him a chance when in book 1 his outcome was dim. I also liked how Tristan was still flirty and happy even with his problems. Gabe was perfect for Tristan and didn't let Tristan's problems deter him from what he felt. They were super sweet and hot together. Happy ending.

The narration was good. Guy Locke does a good job with these characters.
