surviving

for a dystopia book, i prefer inner city, corporations taking control of Gov and lots of tech. this is more wilderness and survival. that being said, i did enjoy the audio performance

Thrilling, action filled story

I enjoyed this post apocalyptic thriller that has strong hints of horror, lots of suspense, action and some great characters. The story has you on the edge of your seat and you wonder at times if anyone will survive. “Them” are truly creepy, they make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and are likely to give you nightmares. The narrator of the audiobook did an excellent job, he really brought out the emotions in the story; you could feel the fear, horror and desperation right along with the characters. This is an exciting story that will keep you glued to the pages. You don’t have to have read the prior books in the series to follow this story, but it does give you more depth and understanding of the characters if you have.

Wow! Non-stop action and suspense

Wow! This book is definitely a winner. The non-stop action and suspense kept me entertained and connected to my iPad all day. The introduction of “them”, as the characters call some of the bad guys, was an interesting new twist that added more mystery and suspense. Furthermore, the author brought in some characters from another of his series, which in itself, added another layer of interest, entertainment and fun. The narrator J. Scott Bennett did a great job expressing some motion into the scenes and dialogue. I really enjoyed listening to this series and would definitely recommend it.

Them

This was a really good post apocolyptic tale. The 'monsters' were a twist that needed a bit more explaining.I enjoyed it though. J. Scott Bennett was a very good narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Wow!! What a journey!!!

If you like sitting on the edge of your seat talking to (or yelling at) the characters then Society Lost is the series for you. Having lived in Tennessee I wondered if I had walked the grounds of THEM, and were there more? The roller coaster journey of Jesse through out the series left me feeling as I had taken it right alongside him and he became a part of my family I will never forget. Steven C Bird does not disappoint in drawing you in from page one and leaving you at the end thanking God you made it out of the fracas!! Thank you for sharing your talent!!

Exciting Story!

Even though this is book 4 in a series, it stands alone and is very enjoyable. The author did a wonderful job and as always, Mr. Bennett does what he does best at the job of narration.

Heart stopping

In this book Jessie meets up with a young girl who has just been rescued by a militia group and she and Nate (her rescuer) are on the run from forces that want to stop them. As they try to avoid these forces they then encounter another evil that has been preying on the locals. This book is full of adventure and at times I thought no one was going to survive. But it was always full of just one more surprise.

The characters are well developed and believable with a story line that keeps your attention throughout. The narration is excellent as I have come to expect from J. Scott Bennett. The range of voices and emotion are superb.

This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.
