I really liked this book. It kept my interest and I couldn't wait to get back in my car so I could listen some more.

Great Listen!

I have listened to the other books in this series and enjoyed this one every bit as much as the others. It has a great story line, strong characters, and a good balance between romance and sensuality. It is also well narrated; Simon Prebble brings additional depth to the characters and enhances the overall listening experience.

Narrator

Simon Prebble nails the reading of these books. I prefer his reading to the females that have narrated in this series.

Best in the series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read all of the books in this series and can say their all well worth listening to, but this is my favorite. The narrator is excellent. Recommend highly and suggest you don't miss any of the Rogues.

Happy, smiling optimism wins

The heroine has the gift of optimism and being almost constantly happy and humerous and passes this on to everyone around her. Our hero is at the lowest place in his life. Though he tries to protect his love from herself, she will not give up on him. Excellent story as every other book in this series about the rouges.

Satisfying story

I confess to being somewhat puzzled by why Jo Beverley's books are not more highly rated on Audible. Her writing is of such consistently high quality! But her focus in this book is definitely on character development, rather than on plot or situational excitement. That could feel a bit lacking in momentum to readers who are used to more plot-driven romance novels. This book is a thoughtful exploration of two people's growing in commitment to one another. It's true that Mara seems somewhat shallow toward the beginning, but she is very young... and I think that the point of her story is her growth from romantic fancies to understanding what "for better or worse" really means. And to her credit, she does not shrink from this growth, but embraces each new relationship challenge with determination. in this she is a worthy partner for Dare, who has his own huge challenge to face. I thought this book showed a lot of Jo's maturity as a writer-- she shows a fight that is primarily mental and spiritual, but undertaken with love and bravery... rather than the fight against a physical danger which is the climax of many books. Writing about such an internal battle effectively, takes depth as an author and as a human being!
Finally, bringing together all the Rogues felt like a satisfying conclusion to all their stories. I've so enjoyed these books, and hope they will be discovered by other readers and listeners that enjoy thoughtful, nuanced stories with a greater-than-average depth of characterization and realism of personality.

Frustrating at times

I liked a lot about the book but there were parts that frustrated me or made me lose interest. I thought she was annoying at times and hoped for love, not an instant love.

To Rescue a Rogue

A great end to the series. I love how the author wrapped up most of the lose ends. Now on to the story of Dare's little sister.

It's Romance

I enjoyed the storyline. If you are looking for a romance to read or listen to during vacation then this is a great book for that.

A Rescue by Strong Characters

A tormented soul addicted to opium. With the help of family and his love he overcomes the drug’s power. A winning book that shows a man’s will to survive. Great narrator that brought to life struggles and temptation we all face.
