About this listen

The newest electrifying thriller in the #1 New York Times–bestselling series has President Jack Ryan and his allies facing a treacherous foe threatening to unleash chaos around the globe. . . .

When Russian President Valeri Volodin's ambitions are foiled in Dagestan, he faces a difficult choice. The oligarchs who support him expect a constant flow of graft, but with energy prices cratering, the Russian economy sputters to a virtual halt. Unable to grow the Russian market at home, his hold on power relies on expansion abroad—a plan that has been thwarted by the United States in the past. But this time Volodin has determined that an indirect approach is the best. A floating natural gas facility in Lithuania is blown up. A Venezuelan prosecutor is assassinated. A devastating attack on a Russian troop train kills dozens. A chaotic world is the best camouflage for a series of seemingly unrelated attacks.

Only one man recognizes an ominous pattern in the reports of terror from around the globe. U.S. President Jack Ryan sees a guiding hand in the worldwide chaos, but before he can act he needs proof.

Amazing from start to finish.

Right from the start I was hooked. I found if difficult to step away from the book in order to tend to daily tasks. Scott Brick did an amazing job from start to finish and I am looking forward to other books he has completed.

Great writing. Great story. Good narration.

I really enjoyed Greaney’s style of writing. The story line was great. It kept you interested. There were just enough turns and twists mixed with action to keep you going. The narrator also did a fine job.

Good old Russia

No matter who the writer is Russia is always the perfect adversary in Tom Clancy novels. Tom Clancy books are best when the story is pertinent to current events. This one is perfect. Well written, Technically accurate and disturbingly possible.

great book

I like Lou Diamond Phillips more. I am sure it is just a personal preference though. The book is as good as one comes to expect from Mark. Hope is is able to continue the success I love this "series."

Another good novel about the campus

I really enjoy the campus series. This one is not as suspenseful or entertaining as others by Greaney. One reason could be that Lou Diamond Phillips is not the narrator. Not that Scott Brick is bad, but I am used for John Clark, Chavez, etc. to sound a certain way.

Why is Scott Brick narrating?

Would you consider the audio edition of Tom Clancy Commander-in-Chief to be better than the print version?

No. I love audio books but I can't stand anything Scott Brick narrates.

What other book might you compare Tom Clancy Commander-in-Chief to and why?

It's a fairly cookie cut Tom Clancy type novel. But for those of us who are fans it's all good.

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

His voice and his whiney tough guy approach to everything he's read. I haven't enjoyed anything he's narrated, by this author or any other. I miss out on good stories because I can't deal with his narration. Sorry Scott, nothing personal.

Any additional comments?

Please go back to Lou Diamond Phillips. PLEASE!!!

Lithuania or Ukraine?

The story line paralled current events in Ukraine so closely, I began to confuse what I was seeing on the evening news with the plot of this book. Very well done!
