About this listen
Gemma Fae Cross, a tough-girl amateur boxer whose fiancé is running for congress, has just made a startling discovery about herself. She is half faerie - and not just any faerie, but a tooth faerie! A hybrid of fae and human, Gemma is destined to defend the Olde Way and protect the fae - who are incapable of committing violence - from threats to their peaceful and idyllic way of life, which must be maintained by distilling innocence collected from children's baby teeth. But when a threat to the fae mission emerges, Gemma is called upon to protect her heritage, and become a legendary fae warrior... even if it means sacrificing everything she knows about being human!

Story
In the beginning, the gods destroyed the world. Five hundred years later, things haven’t gotten much better for humans. The demigods that were left behind to guard over humanity have been using them as fodder for an endless civil war between themselves, and the humans just go on dutifully slaughtering each other, battle after battle. It’s not all bad, though. Perry McGown makes his living off those bloody, stinking battlefields. He works on a crew that reclaims all the spent shell casings. But if anyone found out that he was a deserter from the war, he’d be executed for heresy.

Gemma Fae Cross isn't your ordinary girl. She's a kick-ass amateur boxer with a congressman-in-running finance, but as it turns out, she's also half faerie - the kind that collects the baby teeth of children. Yes, a tooth faerie. But when Gemma is led to become a warrior for the fae, her human life becomes infinitely complicated. Performed with emotion and energy by acclaimed anime voiceover and stage actress Eileen Stevens, Tooth and Nail is an enthralling listen for fans of fantasy and faerie magic.

don't gudge a book by it's cover
waited such a long time to listen to this one. the cover totally threw me off of the story, and then when I started I couldn't stop. such a bitter sweet story with nuances of things many of my generation can relate to. a pleasant mix of reality and fantasy fiction and a hint of nostalgia that wakens the longing to return to innocence
to remember the time before life became real and childhood became a blurry mingle of smells sounds and flikkers of times before the dark existed

very slow boring start but it picks up.
Not what I was expecting but ended up as a light hearted feel good. The start almost had me deleting it but my lackadaisical attitude left it on; I'm glad I did.

Great Starter
I liked the twist on the tale of the Tooth Fairy. Most people never think of a team of Tooth Fairies. Gema didnt take long to adjust to her being half Fairy. It was kinda Karate Kid like when she had to fly, but her solution to the bad guy was great. I would like to see this story in a series.

I like the story ideally plot was interesting. The character development for the main is what got me. She’s a woman in her 30’s that had anger problems. At first I thought damn me too!!! But her reaction seem to be all over the place. Yea she was self aware for the most part but ultimately those parts rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that it was fine.

I absolutely loved this book. I finished in about a day and a half. I wish that the author would write a sequel to this. I used some of this story for my 6 year olds questions about the elusive tooth fairy😘
