Publisher's summary

It’s such an amazing and realistic book

This book is so interesting to listen. I loved the story and all the plots. I’m not going to spoil but it’s a blood bath, if you are not in that kind of stuff. But the story itself is amazing!!

It's Really Not That Great, but Check It Out...

Schmitt does it again: how he writes novels about such completely different themes, with such perfection, each time - I just don't know. I've never seen him interviewed, but he's so good, I feel like he couldn't possibly be likeable: I mean, he'd be fully justified in being unbearably full of himself (he's really that good).

My first book by Schmitt was La Part de L'Autre, since then I've devoured anything else I can get my hands on: but when I buy the audio version, I save it to listen to with my girlfriend because it's something special for us to share. The story is solid: an incredible mix of well-developed characters that play out a story that is itself a social commentary on our world, explored through the theme of borders. Sounds dry & painful, right? Not in the least.

Brilliant & enjoyable: a definite re-listen for me. I hope that you enjoy it if you listen.

Ah!! I've just committed the sin of enthusiasm: normally when I enjoy something I try to hold back on the enthusiasm "check it out, it's not a waste of time" because enthusiasm builds expectations & then you can be let down. So let me say instead: I love this work and you might not, but I think it's ok enough to give it a shot (you know, with low expectations).

N.B. the book is in French :)
