Publisher's summary

The thrilling apocalyptic horror series in one complete box set!

From bestselling author of Dead Meat, a terrifying, epic and action-packed story about the carnage unleashed when a strange object in the sky turns people into blind, raging monsters.

It’s an ordinary Monday.

Until everything changes forever.

At 2:44 PM, a mysterious crack appears in the sky.

Anyone unfortunate enough to look up is immediately struck blind. What’s worse, their mind is wiped clean, replaced with a vicious urge to kill anyone within reach.

Mark is at work when it happens. Fighting not to fall asleep, the boring department meeting suddenly turns into a bloodbath when people are drawn to the windows to look up at the sky.

Down at the street, Gina just finished shopping and now finds herself thrown into a scene from a horror movie, as everyone around her begins beating each other to death.

Stopping at a red light, Tommy's stepdad leans forward to gaze upwards. Without warning, Tommy is trapped inside the car with a mindless monster intent on killing him.

Now, these ordinary people must stand together in the fight for mankind, or die along with it. As the crack grows bigger, more and more people succumb to the rage. Societies collapse and the world is plunged into mayhem.

And there seems to be no cure. No safe haven. Not even an explanation.

Only blind rage.

Filled with action and suspense from the start, this dark, gripping tale of the apocalypse is driven by compelling characters placed in impossible situations.

A supernatural survival thriller perfect for fans of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jeremy Bates, Iain Rob Wright and Jeremy Robinson. If you enjoyed The Stand, Cell, Bird Box and The Dark, then Under the Breaking Sky is a great match for you.

Unforgettable

10s across the board. But the most notable feature in this series is the outstanding character development. It was such an awesome adventure following this group through the apocalypse. Definitely recommend for horror fans with a heart!

Good but so much

Overall its a good series....but there is SO much going on. 5-10 different story lines, zombie ish people, ghosts, eveil vs good, demons...its so much to process as you are going along. And 2 characters being named close together them thomas and tommy confused things a bit. But I love the difference between every other apocalypse book series out there.

The action is forced and the grammer is horrible.

The story is original, but the action is forced and ridiculous. The grammer and wordsmith seems like it came from a child. One example is the author says, "He could throw the crowbar at the window and shatter it. Maybe even break it." Last time I checked, when you shatter glass, you break it. Another example is he describes fresh blood as sticky even though it's not. So many people are described as "the fat guy". Even after main characters names are introduced, they are not used to address the character. Very sloppy writing.

The length

Started out great and the dragged on for hours. Very redundant. Glad it only cost one credit for the whole series. Basically blah.

Not Bad, Not Great.

Found it hard to connect to any of the characters, and some of their transitions/growth paths throughout the series seemed a bit detached. Parts of the narrative get a bit clunky — I got the impression the original books weren’t written in English and had been translated, but I’m not sure if that’s true.

As for the narration, Dillehay is does an admirable job. Clear, concise speaking with a good tempo, just not sure he was the best choice for this subject matter.

Interesting take

Interesting take on the Zpoc. Couldn’t really get into the story but wasn’t bad enough to stop all together. I’ve listened to another one of Nick’s Zombie books and couldn’t get into it either.
