About this listen

The thrilling apocalyptic horror series in one complete box set!

From bestselling author of Dead Meat, a terrifying, epic and action-packed story about the carnage unleashed when a strange object in the sky turns people into blind, raging monsters.

It’s an ordinary Monday.

Until everything changes forever.

At 2:44 PM, a mysterious crack appears in the sky.

Anyone unfortunate enough to look up is immediately struck blind. What’s worse, their mind is wiped clean, replaced with a vicious urge to kill anyone within reach.

Mark is at work when it happens. Fighting not to fall asleep, the boring department meeting suddenly turns into a bloodbath when people are drawn to the windows to look up at the sky.

Down at the street, Gina just finished shopping and now finds herself thrown into a scene from a horror movie, as everyone around her begins beating each other to death.

Stopping at a red light, Tommy's stepdad leans forward to gaze upwards. Without warning, Tommy is trapped inside the car with a mindless monster intent on killing him.

Now, these ordinary people must stand together in the fight for mankind, or die along with it. As the crack grows bigger, more and more people succumb to the rage. Societies collapse and the world is plunged into mayhem.

And there seems to be no cure. No safe haven. Not even an explanation.

Only blind rage.

Filled with action and suspense from the start, this dark, gripping tale of the apocalypse is driven by compelling characters placed in impossible situations.

A supernatural survival thriller perfect for fans of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Jeremy Bates, Iain Rob Wright and Jeremy Robinson. If you enjoyed The Stand, Cell, Bird Box and The Dark, then Under the Breaking Sky is a great match for you.

The Stand meets The Thing!

I am glad I found this series! The author put a twist on aliens taking over the world. The characters were great and you really could become invested in them. I recommend reading, or listening to these books!

Kept my attention!

Loved getting the whole package for one credit! I enjoyed the characters and the story in itself I would definitely say it’s worth that credit!

The Stand meets Left Behind

Overall a great storyline with a refreshing twist. I agree with some of the other reviewers in there was some redundancy… listen to one Mc perspective, same scene through a different mc perspective. Sometimes this was needed, sometimes it just filled space. Great narration. Well worth the credit

I liked the Lovecraft Stephen King feel.

it was definitely dark. but...I enjoyed it alot. some of the characters stuck me as unrealistically moronic.

Better than the Stand

It’s a very twisted story that won’t let you go till the very very end. Characters are complicated , plot is way mire than you can expect from an apocalyptic novel. I listened so far very many of them and this is one of the best. Thank you, Nick Claussen and the Narrator! Definitely buying more of your books.

Plot Holes

[ Note: Contains Spoilers!]

I’m still on the first book. A couple things. The concept is interesting. Though I immediately after the 2nd event why people weren’t using their phones to look up rather than just waiting or “checking Twitter or social media”. The character depth takes awhile and so far they’re all on their own tangents. There’s a big hole when the NSA agent is attacked at his home. Afterwards he states that he gets his service gun and a “case of bullets”, ends up setting them on the counter in the bathroom. But then they evaporate when he makes a point of picking it up before he climbs out the window. He then makes a point of counting the rounds left until they go back in later to pack up. He then gets “3 clips for his gun”. This just grates, knowing there used to be a case.

Why is this Thorne guy such a bad ass guy that just happens to show up and the take an inordinate interest in the characters. There’s never any mention of why he’s there in the first place and now he’s collecting immune people.

Overall, it’s dragging but I’ll see it through and amend my review if needed.

Unforgettable

10s across the board. But the most notable feature in this series is the outstanding character development. It was such an awesome adventure following this group through the apocalypse. Definitely recommend for horror fans with a heart!
