Publisher's summary
One night of misbehaving proves to be more than Corporal Darwin Reddy can handle.
She has one major rule that keeps her single: no military guys. That rule only works if she knows the guy happens to be in the military.
Andrew Zimmerman has returned from another stint with the infantry as a Navy Corpsman. While home for his brother’s wedding, he meets a gorgeous woman and can’t refuse or resist her. The encounter is intense, but fleeting.
When they meet again it is at the Naval Hospital where they discover they broke more than Darwin's rule that night. Can one night of passion and the little bundle of consequence on the way be enough to prove that fate works in mysterious ways?
This audiobook contains explicit sexual content.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Short Military Story Delivers High Marks
This was a great easy listen. The female character is a badass who had to overcome things. Small and mighty she is!! I enjoyed the characters and the unexpected things that happened. Proves that one night of letting go can end up with memories or a new fork in the road with delicious and satisfying happiness along the way. I am looking forward to checking out the rest of the stories as they become available.

Funnier than I expected
I think I had an expectation in my mind that military books are serious, and I enjoy that, but Unexpected was also unexpectedly hilarious! I found myself giggling out loud and had to explain to my husband why I was laughing, which caused him to make a face that I'm going to call horrified amusement. This was fun, short, and perfect. Definitely recommend.
