Not bad for a first book

Audio was super weird with cheap sound props periodically slicing through the background - a rain forest track when they were standing outside the cabin, an echo when they were standing in an underpass, etc. Some of the banging doors were jarring and shocked me as I was driving. Very unsettling and made it hard to hear the dialogue at times. Plot was interesting - a kidnap to keep someone out of town until their window to oppose the sale of a business expires - but it seemed unrealistic to the point of ridiculousness that a child would be kidnapped and that the private investigating firm would agree not to contact the police, even though they had no experience of dealing with such matters. Still, I let that slide and gave the book a chance. Overall, it was not a bad first attempt. I will definitely read the second book in the series.

Good story!

I enjoy Swedish mystery/thriller storytelling. This one did not disappoint. Lars and Ellen are great characters. Cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Thanks for a great escape to Sweden.

Added Sounds

I loved this book for many reasons. Mostly, I liked the audio back up in the reading....whispering, phone ringing, doors closing.
That made it seem more like a live performance.
Bravo.
