Publisher's summary

Fate will find a way to intervene when it’s least expected.

Jax Levine and Gretchen Mills fell madly in love in college and never looked back. They built a great life together, but careers, a baby, and years of mounting tension later, they are living separate lives, and their once grand love is forgotten.

After an accident, Gretchen suffers a brain injury that erases years of her memories. She wakes in the hospital with Jax at her side and everything seems normal...except Jax won’t look her in the eye and their baby boy is now a rambunctious toddler. Every line drawn between Jax and Gretchen starts to blur while Gretchen fights to figure out which of her most haunting recollections are real and which are fake.

Is it possible for this accident to be the second chance neither Jax nor Gretchen knew they wanted?

What I’ll remember most

Thank you for acknowledging that there are black lesbians in the world. With all of the books and authors out there everyone seems to forget that there are more then just “blonde hair and blue eyes” lesbians.

On a lighter note I love the premise of second chances in this book. It was cool to see someone really attempt to fight fate.

Great listen!!

There’s something about this narrator that I really enjoy! This is a story that could happen to anyone. It’s more of a realistic wlw storyline. There’s heartache and truthfulness in this, with a relationship that lasts this long. I was able to relate to these characters more than other books. It wasn’t Melissa’s typical story line. It was heartwarming and sad at the same time. HEA for sure. You won’t be wasting a credit with this one.

Could have been better

The story line was good but it was not very well written. I like the MC.
Narration was not good and it took away the pleasure of the book.

Wow!

What a ride! A really good take on an amnesia story. A roll coaster ride of highs and lows and all worth it! Highly recommend!! I will definitely read more books by Ullrich and Keira Grace did a fantastic job on the narration!!

It was a weird one.

The ending felt a little rushed and anti climatic. I also felt like there were some obvious loose strings.

But I did enjoy the creativity of it, even if it was a touch too slow on the build.

The narration felt a little off, and I can't tell if it's the book's fault or the reader.
