About this listen
Christine and her older brother, Henry, grew up in the Delaney family as loved and nurtured as if they had been born to Elizabeth and Wynn. Now adults, they are ready to make new lives for themselves. Henry has found love and is planning a wedding. Christine is delighted for her brother, but she is still carrying scars from a broken relationship. And the war in Europe causes uncertainties at every turn, while the Northland still calls to her heart.
Amid this instability, more than one handsome young man shows interest in Christine, and she must make a decision. Is she willing to give up her dreams of a life in the North for a love to last a lifetime?

Story
Best-selling author of Too Long a Stranger and Julia's Last Hope, Janette Oke is loved for her inspirational novels. In Once Upon a Summer, Oke weaves the tender tale of 12-year-old, Joshua, who has been raised by his 18-year-old aunt and their grandparents. He has grown accustomed to their close-knit family, but that is all about to change when Joshua's aunt considers marriage. Johnny Heller touchingly narrates the trials of faith this family must face.

But when a rabbi’s missing body sends Leah and Alban after the same answers, what they discover could change all they hold dear.

Worst Narration Performance EVER
This story is lovely however completely ruined by the woman reading it. Do yourself a favor and read the book rather than listen to this audible version. She does this simpleton girlish voice for the leading lady - all her characterizations are terrible. How did this ever happen? I feel sad for the author to have her work tarnished so.

Good, but not as engaging as usual.
I found it difficult to accept the new voices of this books narrator. She seemed to be fairly competetent, but her voice for Christine was too young. it made her sound like a small child when in fact she is a grown woman.

I loved the book .The stories feel so real
I love the book very much. The story is a very realistic, I enjoy the honest and Christian life in the characters. Sometimes she is a little too dramatic, and the characters in the book cry too much, however, that is minor.
