Technology is the new drug....

When Maggie Stone straps on the Vertix H2, an innovative device that creates a social media and online experience unlike anything she’s ever known, she quickly becomes a fan.

Able to control virtual reality with her mind, the rush is intoxicating. But soon the device begins to take over her life. Immersed in a colorful and explosive world of technology, she finds it impossible to disconnect. As her addiction grows, Maggie’s world spirals out of control, endangering and pushing away reality.

Can she kick the social addiction, or will the thrill of the connection pull her under?

Loved Maggie!

Caytlyn Brooke takes you on a journey. I'm not in to YA Fiction but LOVE her writing style. Man, she puts you right there with the characters. I look forward to her writing more fiction for us middle-aged folks.

A whirlwind of a story

This begins as a tale of amazing technology that assists its users quite directly, able to glean information needed to suit each person's needs.

There's tech you'll wish you had. I don't want to give away all, but a dream recorder? Sign me up. Weather cat? Bring it on.

And sign up the main character does. Maggie loves the tech at her fingertips. It's so helpful. She needs it more. Then, she needs it so much...

She notices potential red flags, including the way parents and children are interacting, or failing to, as she encounters them in public.

The author weaves a web of tech and dependency that pulls at the heart strings. Then plucks them harder as Maggie's connection to the tech grows, leading to real world problems.

Recommended read (or listen, as I did with the audiobook version of Wired).

Note that there are infrequent curse words and sexual situations, and some creepy crawlies, just to warn you if you're squeamish.
