Publisher's summary

One night several years ago Logan Crane and Harper Gallagher shared a night of passion and then walked away from each other. Neither one of them were in a position to offer anything other than heartbreak and disappointment.

Harper is a former intelligence officer in the Navy, and now works for the CIA. She is sent on an undercover mission to retrieve an apparatus that lists all the secret operatives working in the American intelligence community.

Logan had a bad experience working with the FBI that he never truly recovered from. Still he continues to do his duty working to protect the country he loves. He too is sent to retrieve the information that could land a devastating blow to his colleagues.

When they meet each other again they discover that some nights aren't easily forgotten, and maybe if they work together they can do more than protect state secrets, like also accepting a love worth risking it all for.

They Won’t let Go!

This is a cute fun story! Well there is some danger involved beings they both work for one of the ABC companies. They met at Carly’s wedding for the first unforgettable time. From there time goes by until they meet up again. It was kind of fun to see Carly, Phillip and even a bit of Cain from the two previous stories. I did listen to this on audio. Juliana Solo did the narration. Between the story and her narration this was an enjoyable listen.

Exciting, thrilling that kept me spellbound

Harper and Logan years ago had a one night stand which lead to memories neither could forget. Over the years they go on with their lives with being hunted by memories of another woman who took his soul and destroyed it. Now Harper is in trouble, he is called in to keep her safe but things take a turn for the worse. This is a short audio of dangers, lies with some very thrilling scenes that pull you in.

The narrator did an outstanding job pulling me in from her many different character voices to the passion, anger and love she gives them. She puts true emotion into each one making you feel their pain, excitement and the danger that surrounds them. There were no volume changes, no repeating of words, or any breaks in the audio. He makes you believe you are apart of the story giving you a picture you can see vividly in your mind. I found her performance to be delightful giving a very entertaining listen that I totally enjoyed.

I thought the author covered a lot of ground in a short time, leaving nothing out and really giving you a highly entertaining story that I that I enjoyed. The characters are believable, very entertaining, loved the drama, mixed emotions and the danger that comes with them. The supporting characters were just as great. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Story Too Big for Short Form

Short-form fiction has several perils, including that there could be too much story to be adequately told in the short form. Such was the major problem with this book. It's a contemporary romantic suspense, and the romance is the more easily understandable part of the story. The hero, however, has an incredibly tragic, traumatic recent backstory that was pertinent to what was happening in both the suspense part of the plot as well as the romance. I don't know if I would say it actually ever was explained thoroughly enough, even by the end of the story. Yes, we did learn more about what happened to him late in the book, but it didn't feel like enough, and it certainly happened too late to keep confusion at bay and to help us better appreciate his struggles. Both main characters are fascinating people to watch, but I just felt as though they were given short shrift in this far too quick-read or quick-listen novella.
