John Pavlovitz
John Pavlovitz has inspired millions to keep boldly loving both neighbors and strangers throughout the years of Trump's hate-mongering campaign and presidency and continues to be a voice of sanity and urgency when so much is still at stake.
It's a scary time for America, with rights for women and transgender people being rolled back, the truth about Black history and experience being silenced, and unrestricted gun violence on the rise. People who value inclusion, compassion, and the common good are understandably anxious and angry-but we can't give up hope. We need motivation to keep fighting for justice.
This inspiring volume features Pavlovitz's most important writing from the past several years alongside brand-new essays to provide the encouragement, stamina, and direction we need to keep going, even when things feel bleak.

With this book, Pavlovitz urges readers to work past their frustrations with our government, our religions, and even our loved ones to keep fighting for the things we believe in. “This is the reason this book exists: to remember how much is still worth fighting for.”
This inspirational book is broken down into six parts, with an introduction challenging readers to step into the ring to fight “for the stuff that matters.” Along the way, he offers “training sessions” to help readers “craft practice and attainable responses” to important questions so they are prepared for the fight to come.
The first part of the book starts where many of us are today: feeling hopeless, battling mental health issues, dealing with cruelty, and struggling with the state of America right now. And while this book was published last year, everything in it is still relevant (and will probably remain so for at least the next three years).
Pavlovitz lifts readers up, encouraging readers to face their fears while pointing out that being nice is not the goal. He uses scripture for those among us who look to The Bible for guidance, but non-Christians shouldn’t feel like religion is being forced down their throats. In fact, Christians may face some hard truths about religion, Jesus, and praying for God to step in and fix all our problems.
On the Copyright page, readers are advised that some of the material in Worth Fighting For has been previously published in Pavlovitz’s other books, and the Notes page offers sources used in writing this book.
Overall it’s a valuable resource for anyone feeling disheartened by the world around them, and I highly recommend it. As the author says, “Fight on, good people!”
This audiobook is narrated by the author. I absolutely love author-narrated books and this one was no exception!
Perfect for today's political climate
