Maurice Klein speaks with Jamal Hakim, a current Melbourne City Councillor and Mayoral Candidate, who earlier this year moved a controversial motion to support a ceasefire in Gaza and has now chosen to speak out against antisemitism. Jamal's call to speak out against antisemitism is about standing united against hate, hate of any kind, and for human rights for all. Jamal makes a very interesting comment on Hamas using the civilian population of Gaza as human shields and the treatment of gays by Palestinian Government of Gaza.

Maurice Klein speaks with Tamar Paluch, about the very important project “A Year Like No Other: Elevating Jewish Women's Voices In The Wake of October 7”. The Lamm Jewish Library of Australia is partnering with the National Library of Israel inviting Australia's Jewish women to submit personal essays about their reflections and experiences of the aftermath post October 7 and the tumultuous times being experienced in Australia . The rallying call for the project is “A Year Like No Other: Write from the Heart, Write for the Future”. The essays will be compiled and archived at the Lamm Library and Israel's National Library October 7 Archive, which has been established to serve as a central repository for documents in the wake of the October 7 atrocities. A selection of the essays will be published as part of the Lamm Jewish Library’s anthology series. Personal essays should be up to 2000 words in English or Hebrew. Email your essay to: commanthology2024@gmail.com. Please include your full name and contact details. You will receive a confirmation email and a brief questionnaire to complete.
