Maurice Klein speaks with Tamar Paluch, about the very important project “A Year Like No Other: Elevating Jewish Women's Voices In The Wake of October 7”. The Lamm Jewish Library of Australia is partnering with the National Library of Israel inviting Australia's Jewish women to submit personal essays about their reflections and experiences of the aftermath post October 7 and the tumultuous times being experienced in Australia . The rallying call for the project is “A Year Like No Other: Write from the Heart, Write for the Future”. The essays will be compiled and archived at the Lamm Library and Israel's National Library October 7 Archive, which has been established to serve as a central repository for documents in the wake of the October 7 atrocities. A selection of the essays will be published as part of the Lamm Jewish Library’s anthology series. Personal essays should be up to 2000 words in English or Hebrew. Email your essay to: commanthology2024@gmail.com. Please include your full name and contact details. You will receive a confirmation email and a brief questionnaire to complete.

Showcasing the best of Jewish themed and Israeli films from the Jewish diaspora, we heard from Eddie that the program launch movie “White Bird” received a unanimous vote of approval, with people deeply affected, moved and loved with fantastic word of mouth and presales having gone through the roof. We heard from Eddie that after watching a few hundred movies JIFF 2024 will be screening an impressive selection of films. The JIFF opening night movie will be followed by an interview that Eddie had with Jesse Eisenberg who wrote, directed and stars in that movie.
