Syracuse Orange Basketball lost to the Stanford Cardinal 70-61 on Wednesday evening. Adrian Autry's squad continues to get off to slow starts this season, despite numerous changes to Syracuse's rotation. It's also become evident that the current mix of Orange players simply do not fit together. Most of the rotational pieces were highly rated in high school or college, but Autry's squad appears to be a classic example of a team in which the whole is worse than the sum of its parts.

Syracuse Orange Basketball traveled to the west coast to take on the Stanford Cardinal on Wednesday evening. Adrian Autry's squad fell behind 25-2 at one point in the first half. Jaquan Carlos spearheaded an Orange comeback, but it wasn't enough especially with JJ Starling only having seven points. Maxime Raynaud led Stanford with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Syracuse is now 3-7 in the ACC and get ready for a crucial battle against Cal on Saturday with a meeting with Duke looming next week.

Syracuse Orange Football faces a difficult 2025 college football schedule mainly due to the quarterbacks they're playing. Fran Brown's squad takes on four quarterbacks that have early top-15 Heisman Trophy odds: Cade Klubnik, Nico Iamaleava, Carson Beck, Kevin Jennings. Plus, the Orange take on Darian Mensah, Eli Holstein, and Haynes King. Syracuse had the edge at QB with Kyle McCord in most of its games last season, but with a first-time starter heading into 2025, it's hard to say whether or not Cuse will hold the same advantage from 2024.

Syracuse Football Offensive Coordinator recently interviewed with the Houston Texans for their OC position to replace Bobby Slowik, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Nixon guided Syracuse's offensive and Kyle McCord to an elite season, and he would be hard for Fran Brown to replace him. But, it's a positive sign for the Syracuse program. Syracuse Orange Football landed a massive fish in its 2026 high school recruiting class, four-star edge rusher Jarius Rodgers. Rodgers is the second highest rated recruit in the Fran Brown era, and compares similarly to other four-star recruits like Jamie Tremble, KingJoseph Edwards, and Demetres Samuel. Syracuse's plan of building from within seems to be working as the Orange now have the 11th rated class in the country, per 247sports. Hopefully, Syracuse can land even more big fish with the Orange in on Calvin Russell, Jaydin Broadnax and others.

Syracuse Orange Football secured its eighth verbal commit in the class of 2026, offensive lineman Steven Pickard. Pickard is 6'5" 300lb and plays high school football at IMG Academy. Fran Brown has scored three offensive line commits already in 2026: Javeion Cooper, Jojo White, and Pickard. The Orange also have the 15th highest rated class in 2026, per 247sports.

Syracuse Orange Basketball lost to the Pitt Panthers 77-73 inside the JMA Wireless Dome. Eddie Lampkin collected 23 rebounds. Chris Bell knocked down four three-pointers. Adrian Autry's suad won the non JJ Starling minutes. And the Orange took care of the ball better in the second half. Yet, Syracuse still somehow found a way to lose this game.
