  • Mastering Money Mindfulness: David Delisle on Intentional Spending and Financial Freedom
    Oct 22 2024

#26: Welcome back to Manifest Travel, where we explore intentional journeys and personal growth through the lens of seasoned world travelers and lifestyle experts. I'm your host, Brittany Braddock, and this episode is all about money mindfulness.

David Delisle is a TV personality, best-selling author, and the visionary behind a movement that is reshaping how we think about money. He’s the author of The Golden Quest, the first-ever graphic novel designed to teach financial literacy in a fun and engaging way. David has been featured on TEDx, NBC, Fox News, Forbes, and CTV’s *The Social* for his groundbreaking approach to money mindfulness, centered on what he calls The Awesome Stuff.

In this episode, we dive deep into David’s philosophy on money, how it connects to living a richer, more fulfilling life, and the simplicity of basic financial literacy. We talk about money dysmorphia, as well as David’s practical tips for determining your own “awesome stuff” and how you can ensure that your spending and saving habits are conducive to the type of lifestyle you actually want. We also get into the importance of teaching children about money mindfulness and how travel can impact a young person’s perspective on what truly matters to them.

  • Budget Solo Travel, Self-Discovery, and Queer Adventures with Dianni Hall
    Oct 15 2024

#25: I’m incredibly excited to introduce you to a very special guest—Dianni Hall, the voice behind the 'While She's Away' podcast. Dianni has a remarkable story of how she embarked on a journey of low-budget, solo travel that led her to some amazing volunteer and work-away experiences across the globe. She’s here to share the resources she used to find these unique accommodations and how she strategically sticks to her travel budget.

In this episode, we’ll dive into how solo travel can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. We’ll explore the challenges of imposter syndrome, how pushing through the discomfort can prove to yourself that you’re capable of doing hard things, and why trying on different versions of yourself throughout your lifetime is essential.

We also talk about how solo travel impacts your self-reliance, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence, and the ways it has helped me personally in mitigating codependent tendencies. We’ll even touch on how we are each navigating relationships on and off the road, how Dianni is incorporating queerness and the queer community into her travels, and how her travel style has evolved—especially when it comes to the differences between hostels and co-living spaces.

  • Emergency Preparedness Special
    Oct 8 2024

#24: Although I typically host guests to talk about travel on this show, I wanted to reflect on and share my experience in Asheville, North Carolina during Hurricane Helene.

I also want to acknowledge my privilege. While I was definitely in survival mode, hypervigilant, and facing significant challenges, I know that I was fortunate compared to so many in my community who lost homes or livelihoods or even their lives.

My thoughts are with them as I share what I’ve learned and how I plan to be better prepared moving forward.
