    Oct 22 2024

#26: Welcome back to Manifest Travel, where we explore intentional journeys and personal growth through the lens of seasoned world travelers and lifestyle experts. I'm your host, Brittany Braddock, and this episode is all about money mindfulness.

David Delisle is a TV personality, best-selling author, and the visionary behind a movement that is reshaping how we think about money. He’s the author of The Golden Quest, the first-ever graphic novel designed to teach financial literacy in a fun and engaging way. In this episode, we dive deep into David’s philosophy on money, how it connects to living a richer, more fulfilling life, and the simplicity of basic financial literacy. We talk about money dysmorphia, as well as David’s practical tips for determining your own “awesome stuff” and how you can ensure that your spending and saving habits are conducive to the type of lifestyle you actually want. Oct 15 2024

#25: I’m incredibly excited to introduce you to a very special guest—Dianni Hall, the voice behind the 'While She's Away' podcast. Dianni has a remarkable story of how she embarked on a journey of low-budget, solo travel that led her to some amazing volunteer and work-away experiences across the globe. She’s here to share the resources she used to find these unique accommodations and how she strategically sticks to her travel budget.

In this episode, we’ll dive into how solo travel can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth. We’ll explore the challenges of imposter syndrome, how pushing through the discomfort can prove to yourself that you’re capable of doing hard things, and why trying on different versions of yourself throughout your lifetime is essential.

We’ll even touch on how we are each navigating relationships on and off the road, how Dianni is incorporating queerness and the queer community into her travels, and how her travel style has evolved—especially when it comes to the differences between hostels and co-living spaces.

  • Purposeful Travel & Social Justice with Matt Bowles
    Sep 17 2024

#21: Welcome to the Manifest Travel podcast where I, along with some incredible guests, dive into all things travel. Through these conversations, I hope to provide you with the inspo and motivation you need to put yourself out there and manifest more travel!

For this week’s episode, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with someone whom I now consider a dear friend and a mentor, Matt Bowles. Matt is just an incredible human with this palpable love for his fellow human beings and a deep passion for social justice and equality.

Matt also hosts a podcast, The Maverick Show, which has over 300 episodes featuring in-depth interviews with world travelers, digital nomads, and location-independent entrepreneurs. The show highlights how he and his guests navigate the world through immersive cultural experiences, while also providing personal and professional insights on entrepreneurship, travel, and remote work.

A defining element of the Maverick show is its focus on social justice, which Matt incorporates through his own background as a political activist and co-founder of a socially-conscious, fully remote real estate brokerage. The conversations often delve into topics of racial justice, economic inequality, and the political implications of travel. These discussions provide historical context by addressing the impact of colonialism, global power dynamics, and systemic inequities in different regions.

So we get into some of that in our conversation, as well. We talk about the responsibilities that come with being a global traveler, such as the importance of educating yourself on the social, political, and economic histories of the places you’re visiting and some practical tips you can use to become a more conscious traveler.

We talk about Matt’s pivot from a career in the nonprofit sector to cofounding a fully remote real estate brokerage firm, Maverick Investor Group and some of the specifics on building a fully remote business in a traditionally location dependent space.

Matt has now been fully location-independent for over 10 years, so we talk about stability anchors and his advice on how to maintain an organized, consistent schedule in an ever changing, dynamic environment- as is the case for most digital nomads.

    And so much more!
