Revisiting A Franchise And Things Get... Weird

  • Summary

  • Today, we discuss the classic PlayStation 2 video game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Released in 2001, this game is a sequel to the popular Metal Gear Solid. This is our first sequel episode, or the first episode where we dove back into a franchise we've already covered. For Ryan it was a first time play through, for Deric it was a return to something familiare, or so we thought. Things get... weird. We talk about what makes a good sequel and how this game almost didn't come out due to its release date coinciding with the aftermath of 9/11. We also talk about some of the things we didn't like about the game and some of the things we did. Did you know this game was almost canceled? We talk about the game's development. Be sure to listen to the end to hear our icebreaker question for next week's episode!
