  • Morning Mantra: “Your biggest opponent isn’t the other person, it's your own reflection.”

The goal to self-improvement is not to always be trying to be better than others. The goal should be to be better than your previous self. This can be difficult when you feel your self-worth is determined by how you compare.

Remember, self-worth is determined by you. How YOU feel about yourself. There are things you can do and say to improve yourself and improve your self-worth. These are not based on your looks, your weight, your wealth, or job title, but on the person you ARE.
I like to give myself reminders of how I want to be. I repeat these things each day.

"Keep my anger from becoming meanness.
Keep my sorrow from collapsing into self-pity.
Keep my heart soft enough to keep breaking.
Keep my anger turned towards justice, not cruelty.
    Keep me fiercely kind.
Remind me that all of this, every bit of it, is for love. "
